FA Cup - Worthing v Margate UPDATES

Come on you so called Margate fans, Ramsgate lost as well, don't matter the score line, a defeat is a defeat. Yes the money would have nice for both clubs, but staying in this league is more important.

I'm a Ramsgate fan and have watched the Rams lost 3 times at home, but will still turn up and cheer the lads however they play.

Have a bit of faith for Gods sake.

We'll all be doing the same matey for our lads don't you fret.We don't give up that easily. Its just a bad day & I for one am just about calming down.
The guys above have a point though but again,we'll be there come rain or come shine. I know I will be despite all my disappointments from today.
Its not the scoreline so much with me its the silly early starts we keep giving away.
We create too many uphill struggles for ourselves having just come out of the blocks.

What a terrible result, i think Ashby is going to need some help from the board here, before he gets some unfair criticism when in all fairness the criticism should go to the board because after all they are the reason why the club is a mess. However it is odd that after a run of games where the results have been a bit unlucky on us and then all of a sudden it seems as if we weren't quite up for it and sounds like we deserved to lose. It is a shame but i would prefer to lose 5-1 to Worthing in the FA Cup then get relegated. You never know this could be a blessing in disguise.

A couple of good things have come out of today's defeat and therefore my compliments to (a)those lads who kept on singing for virtually the whole game (even at 4-1 down they were singing we are going to win 5-4) and (b)to Steve Bull who produces for us a most wonderful programme, far superior to that produced by Worthing today.

Oh, the game: that was awful.

After every game this season I have remained positive because we have had some good performances and I still refuse to be negative about our prospects for the season. However sometimes you do have to be a realist and this is how I saw todays game.

I cannot understand how we played so well against such a good team as Dover and then lost 5-1 to Worthing. This was not one of those unlucky games, the fact is that we were awful. It seemed to me that the players just were not good enough, they did not have the quality or technical ability to compete against a good but not brilliant Worthing team.A brief summary would be-we could not stop them crossing the ball and when they put crosses in we could not defend them.We won virtually nothing in the air.

On the other hand we could not get many crosses in and when we did we had nobody to convert them as their centre half won everything in the air.So they did everything that we didn't.

Unfortunately our midfield must have been on Margate beach because I could see no sign of them in Worthing. Our 2 young strikers worked hard but the service to them was not good because every time we got the ball forward the final ball was not good enough and they ended up running their socks off for no reward.

Our tackling was not good enough

Our passing was not good enough

Our heading was not good enough

Our shooting was errr non existant

I am sorry to be so damning of the performance but I have to be honest and this is from someone who is normally very positive.BA has got injuries and they are to his more experienced players so I do remain confident that we can turn things around.I know that BA will have learned a lot from today because he will have seen all the things that I saw and I have confidence in him to put it right. Its no good saying 'this is rubbish i'm not supporting Margate anymore' because without the support of the fans the good times will never come back.

Good post Alan.

Unfortunatley I cannot agree or disagree with you as am still very annoyed with that non performance today. It is very rare for me to walk away from a defeat without seeing anything positive (like you) from it but, today well ............

Maybe going to see Skins and Dorking Wanderers vs Bosham on 27th will cheer me up (anyone else game for this match?)

a very depressed coolsmoke
