Match report (done by Paul Bakewell for the norwegian website):

Town boss, John Kendall summed this one up as follows - 'it wasn't the most exhilarating of performances, but people say winning matches when you're not playing well is the mark of a good side.'

I have to agree - yet another game where we're firing on three cylinders and still winning. Even with Chris Moore losing a contact lens in the first half, Town's defence were rarely troubled by a fairly poor Hampton side.

Highlights:

- 7 - Leon thru but shot over bar.

- 22 - Fine run from Adekola ended when badly tripped in the box. Leon calmly slotted into net.

- 26 - Good run from Saint followed by shot over bar.

- 27 - Fine cross from Saint on right for Leon to head, but saved by the keeper.

- 35 - Due to this trip (suspected achilles tendon) Adekola subbed for Charles who livened things up.

- 39 - Another good run from Saint, thru ball to Charles who shot just by the left post.

- 70 - Good cross from a struggling Hooker for Charles to head, but again saved.

- 73 - One for the scrapbook - 'Wild Bill' Goldstone run down the right, beating several defenders to find himself in the box - a cute angle shot was unfortunately saved.

Leon played much better overall this game and came close a few times, but it was Saint with another run down the right, cut into the centre but again the the keeper Russell saved more embarrassment. Another win and still second. Big test v Aylesbury next sat.
