Farnborough

Really looking forward to Saturday, especially off the back of the last two games. Its going to be hard to get a result - Farnborough are top of the league and haven't lost yet, although they have only scored 10 goals and conceded 3. Also the best supported club in the Southern League, just under 600.

So let's go and have a laugh and create a party atmosphere - balloons, streamers etc.

Really looking forward to the match too and decent sized crowd for a change.

Farnborough were by far and away the best team I saw at Holloways Park last season and I can only imagine they are even better this year. However, magic of the cup and all that, we have improved a bit from last year too and if the boys go out and play without fear and give everything we might have a puncher

Just to note that Farnborough's ground has completely changed. The cover behind the goal is now at the opposite end, and the end that was covered is not (Farnborough fans say if i'm wrong!).

So for noise purposes it may be better for the noisy lot to stand at the side of the pitch as that part is covered when we are not kicking towards the non-covered end.

I'm looking forward to it too. The game at home last season which we lost 3-2 was probably the best of the season despite the fact we were under the hammer for long periods. If we can put in that sort of performance with the side we have now we should be able to give them a decent game.

Yes, the Prospect Road End which was sheltered is now open, awaiting a new stand. The opposite end is now covered for the full length of the pitch albiet not very deep. The far side is also fully covered from end to end and the Seating has now been changed and goes down to pitch level either side of the Dug-outs. Pitch is also looking very good.

I must admit I fancy our chances. Slough are on the up again after many seasons of struggle. The famed FA Cup fighters will be back. I think this will be the surprise of the round and we will triumph 3-0. To add insult to injury Luke & Bubbsy will be amongst the scorers!

Farnborough wont know what hit 'em!i think Saturday they will be too [****!!****] for their own good.

anon i think that might be a bit OTT but im quietly confident we can cause some kind of upset. even a draw would be a fantastic result.

however even if we dont win or even come close i dont think it will harm our team and the experience and occasion will only help to improve this current Slough side as a team.

Also looking forward to going and making some noise and party atmosphere at Farnborough, a decent crowd and even if we lose a nice cheque for the gate fees to come our way!

Not sure about our chances as Farnborough are a very strong team, but it is the FA cup and I'm sure Derek will have them fired up after the last 2 games.

Been asked by a Farnborough Steward to post this info:

Ground open from 12:00 and if you want a drink you need to come into the ground and access the bar from there.

Will have the food hut open on the far side of the ground.

Also he asked how many we will bring - I said around 150, but it could be anywhere from 100 to 200.

This is a game that would be great to win, more than acceptable to draw, and understandable if we lost. Slough have got nothing to lose on Saturday - we are viewed as the underdogs, but we have taken bites out of clubs a lot bigger than Farnborough!

Hoping to get there on way to meet some guys in Putney. Got a game in Tewkesbury in morning, so will not be leaving to nearly one! Hope M5/M4/M3 are running clear, otherwise could be half time when I arrive.

I am really looking forward to it. Has the potential to be a real humdinger of a match. I'm sure Farnborough have improved since last season when they were already very good, but we're also very much stronger too and have nothing to fear after recent performances.

Good luck on Saturday, remember the only game Farnborough first team have lost this season at Cherrywood was 2-0 against Combined Counties Camberley Town who they underated greatly it came as a bit of a shock to them. If they have the same mind set on Saturday (big time Charlies) you could well do the business many good wishes for a good result.
