Tickner, Jones ( just back today ) Hall and Marshall.

Brainless.

Thanks for the info, as I was not at the game and before you say it I also have not commented on the game either on any of the threads.

But with four players from last season in the starting team shows that there are some activity going on, as Wagga states, too much.

But what chance does Gazza's and OOT's attitude give the new manager and new players in trying to settle? and feel like they are being supported? I praise Gazza for going to ETU to 'back' the boys, I wish I could have been there, But we have been unsettled since Jim's departure and have continued to be so to date.

For me the biggest issue is getting the hard core nucleous settled and available to replace the 'ageing' and 'leaking' ones. It will take time, maybe a week or maybe another season, football has a way suddenly falling into place, if you don't believe in that then surrendering is simple.

A 2-0 defeat away to ETU is a shame, but for an unsettled team to lose by that amount to a team who have beaten most clubs they have played this season, shows we are not far away from bridging the gap, eventually.

But i'm sure you will all agree that some of you guys have been on the managements back from the first fixtures of the season and that makes me question whether you are fault finders (cos you'll find faults at every club) rather than supporters.

EU. I respect some of your views, not all I hasten to add, because you have more up to date coaching knowledge than I have but a question I would like answered somewhere is why are we still unsettled since Jim left? We cannot blame him for that.

Why have we taken on board so many players and then shipped them out, some even before they have turned out for us? Why do we continually change team selection week in and week out? Obviously team selection doesn't just come down to selecting your best 11 because there will be injuries/suspensions, etc but isn't it about time that a settled spine is chosen and build around them. If the players are not up to it then encourage players to come to the club and work with them and make them even better players. Isn't that what coachng is all about? It must surely be disconcerting to all the players to turn up one week, find new players arriving, just being fitted in, only to find they are not good enough and then they move on.

We have been told in the past that good players want to come to ETFC. If they do then where are they and what are we doing to encourage them to come and perform? These are not questions for you to answer, merely some which, if answered, may help supporters understand what is going on.

Keep going with your coaching.

To answer a couple of Andy's queries to the best of my knowledge is, that I'm not blaming Jim for the unsettled situation, however the wheels did come off for him before he resigned.

When he did resign he left behind a spine of the team that still exists upto the Aveley game. And the spine is found wanting and short of requirement at our level, additionally we had poor disciplinary.

Stewart has had ten's of new players coming and going, the ones going were either not good enough, had fingers in more than one pie when with us, were very good players but wanted too much money or saw that opportunities would be few and far between due to the numbers.

Stewart needs to create a new nucleous and we do have some very good players, I've already mentioned them but I'll do it again, Walton, Allen, Stephenson, Dauti, Hahn, Crace, Remy, Jones and Rudi always has the club at heart and passion. But they have never all been available for selection in one go. When the majority were we beat Ware, Hillingdon (well), Godalming(well) and drew with Redbridge and Brentwood.

But the clubs achilles heel under Jim's last few matches and since he resigned has been the defence (which we all know). We have persisted with 'spine' individuels such as Campbell, Tickner and Bastian and have had 3-4 keepers too this season, but are now with a good keeper in Walton. And it is this area we are struggling to find the right quality to keep a clean sheet or two, cos apart from the ETU match we have been scoring freely.

Or we shoot Stewart get a new gaffer in with no connections, love or feelings for the club who would walk out and leave us in the lurch when things go belly up or not have the budget he wants to sign a player.

This comment tells me your out to get SM, he was caretaker with MS and officially given the reins in the summer, mid-August to date just a smidgen under 3 months of competitive involvement minus 2-3 weeks away for a holiday while A LEE was sabotaging the scene.

Isn't this the crux of the problem? Why did we take these players on if they then wanted more money than we could afford?

We can actually analyse as supporters with optimism for 2009, with the intro of SB, better signings, players returning from suspension and injury (Dave Allen and Remy must soon be fit) and winning 3 games on the spin. But we do have a fixture pile up which can work against us as we are the chasing herberts in mid-table. But a touch of good fortune it can be achieved.

Not alot to go on with Todays results as so few games were played. Ware got beat which is expected somewhat with the goings on there, however only 2-1 so is that good for Ware or is there not muchbetween them and Northwood even at Wares current state?

Avele look to have the league in the bag, they are very consistent.

Concord slipped two points to Witham which holds them back from pulling away from us.

Wingate won 4-3 v's Hillingdon which is a closer score than we'd expect.

So whats going on????

This Saturday is a critical match for us Townies, 3pts v's Wingate and we are making the right noises a loss and we must face another season in RNDiv1.

SB has made a great difference since teaming up with SM, he has left out some established players and brought in his own players who have managed to improve results and performances of late.

My advice to SB is to be ruthless in team selection on Saturday as a win is vital.
