Your absolutely right, and I dont begrudge him a choice. However ETFC's ambitions are hight, no doubt so are broxbournes, but we cant afford any more mistakes or failed signings, Bradley should be wished the best but may have come to the Town at the wrong time for him.

This information was taken from the FA website.

What's to say he will be chosen this Saturday?

That is true, and I hope that he isn't, with Dauti playing alongside Rudi, or even Max being involved. My previous post was just based upon the management's reluctance so far to drop him!! conf

nk the management have every reason to drop the donkey,

firstly, he's not shown the ability to play at this level,

secondly, he's shown no form, except for poor form,

thirdly, we'd be better off playing the team on saturday with those we know are available on Tuesday which RA is'nt

fourthly, Dauti's opportunity now to partner Rudi and fore us to see what he is made of.

I like Max, but somehow do not feel he is quite ready yet, but he will be eventually.

One out on loan already

Broxboune Borough boss Tony Faulkner confirmed to nonleaguedaily that he had signed Nicky Marsh from Hertford Town and obtained the services on loan of Matthew `Max` Mitchell, younger brother of club stalwart Daryl Mitchell, from Ryman League Division One North neighbours Enfield Town.

Don't think Rudi and Dauti as a central midfield pair would woirk, unfortunately. We need a more defensively minded player alongside Rudi to give our back four (eight?) a bit of protection.

Hi folks, well here we are at the beginning of October and us Town fans can now reflect on a satisfactory month and a vastly improved one to August.

I think it is fair to say that not only results but performances have improved as well.

Our good results (last 2 games) have coincided with Dave Allen, Dauti and Stephenson coming into the side

My opinion is stick with the winning team and only make changes if and when really neccessary.

We should aim for 10-11 poits out of a possible 15 in October which will definately lift us up the correct end of the table if successful in achieving that.

Well done to those who have back tracked in there opinions of SM, he knows too well the first few games were sh1te but he is working hard with those who support him and has been successful in the last 2 games, like I said loyalty will bring results.

Lets hope thats the last of RA too.

Roll on October preferably upwards.

Thats 3 wins on the trot, 2 resounding wins against 'poor' teams and a good team win v's Ware, who are featuring at the correct end of the table.

We must not get carried away, the management have a lot of work still to do so that the early seasons failures are well and truly erased from memory, but as the man said (peter coath) we are building a momentum.

I think we should select the recently tried and successfully tested for the coming games. Another winnable game v's W Forest so no complacency in team selection and a win at all costs again.

Well done MS and SM for today.

I was'nt there to be honest and my 'contact' told me they are a poorish team in all respect. However, like you said they have had some impressive results too.

So the fact that the general opinion was we played well bodes well for the next game and team confidence.

I hope we keep team selection steady and look to play a regular winning team week in week out.

The next games v's Forest, which is winnable so no complacency please just a mentality to go for the juggular.

EU I'm with Andy Pandy on this one! They were a good side made to look ordinary by some good town play!

I have a feeling Martini was trained by PH in dressing room rants and language! I was standing 20 feet away and could hear plainly some of the frustration felt by management!

They (Godalming) have beaten some good teams this season.

Some of diving and theatricals were straight off a west end stage!

  • 1 month later...

We are in November and results are now very mixed from september to date. We've won a few lost a few and drawn a few. We certainly are not a top six team and on current playing staff dont look like making it to the play offs either. The last four games have been against the top teams and we managed 2 points.

Positives are we are scoring goals except for the ETU game. However goals are being leaked for fun. It's very difficult but we need to somehow recruit and then hope that the recruitments can gel sufficiently to plug in the gaps. The recruiting is evident however the luck and gelling is not.

Stewart M has been in charge for 3'ish months, to call him to be sacked is wrong as 3 months is no way the correct length of time to be given to a new manager.

I'm confident we will not be relegated therefore its fair to allow the manager to continue doing his best, I see quality players in our squad of Remy, Hahn, Jones, Stephenson, Allen, Walton, Gazmend, thats 7 players however not all avalable for injuries and suspensions. But I believe with youngstrs such as Mashall and Maxwell coming through, we have a nucleous to buil around and add too gradually, the future I believe is and can be a positive one eventually, with the main attention due for the defence (which I suppose goes without saying).

We have to remember Jim jumped ship last season with it sinking to an extent and we still have the majority of those players playing, it needs gradual change not radical ones.

I'm sure I'll get called a joke or brainless, but its my footballing view and not a personal view, I also understand the difficulty of managing playersat this level on a strict (rightly so) budget of spending what we can afford.

I think many are focusing on the trees and can't see the forest.

The inordinate number of players going through the club (55?) should be worrying the Board.

The fact that so many players have been tried but still the defence 'leaks' should be worrying the Board.

Has the Club(Board) put in place any sort of Plan for the next year, two years, five years?

Have they put in place a Youth Policy as far as team development is concerned?

Have they given the Coach(Manager) a set of guidelines within which they wish him to work to reach those goals?

Or have they negated their responsibilities and handed over success, failure and the playing future of the club to ONE(it was TWO) individual/s who will be convenient scapegoats when things don't work out?

Of course these goals and plans should be flexible and formulated in consultation with the coaches.

Appears that the tail is wagging the dog.

Good points wagga, ones we would like answers too.

I do believe we have a good youth set up, but how many will be nicked by other clubs at the same level with more to offer?

There happy.
Of the 11 starting today at Thurrock how many are from last season ?

answer .....................just 4
Tickner, Jones ( just back today ) Hall and Marshall.

Brainless.

Thanks for the info, as I was not at the game and before you say it I also have not commented on the game either on any of the threads.

But with four players from last season in the starting team shows that there are some activity going on, as Wagga states, too much.

But what chance does Gazza's and OOT's attitude give the new manager and new players in trying to settle? and feel like they are being supported? I praise Gazza for going to ETU to 'back' the boys, I wish I could have been there, But we have been unsettled since Jim's departure and have continued to be so to date.

For me the biggest issue is getting the hard core nucleous settled and available to replace the 'ageing' and 'leaking' ones. It will take time, maybe a week or maybe another season, football has a way suddenly falling into place, if you don't believe in that then surrendering is simple.

A 2-0 defeat away to ETU is a shame, but for an unsettled team to lose by that amount to a team who have beaten most clubs they have played this season, shows we are not far away from bridging the gap, eventually.

But i'm sure you will all agree that some of you guys have been on the managements back from the first fixtures of the season and that makes me question whether you are fault finders (cos you'll find faults at every club) rather than supporters.

EU, YOU REALLY ARE MISSING THE POINT.

Going down 2 - 0 against ETU is, in it's self not a terrible defeat, bearing in mind both Clubs league positions.

BUT, the way we played, with no passion, no team spirit, no leader etc etc AND having one weak and one decent shot throughout the entire match IS A WORRY.

This constant changing of the side does not help.

3 new players every bloody week does not help - especialy when the ones coming in are worse than those they replace.

That is why I am not sure if SM knows what he is doing.

We also seem to have a new "assistant" on the bench - who was that ?

How many assistants have we had so far under the SM guidance ?

That is another reason why I am not sure if SM knows what he is doing.

Let's hope he proves me ( and others ) wrong.....and soon.

I have supported Town since the team started, but just take a look around our support ( yesterday ) and the numbers are dropping. Take a look at our home crowds - numbers are dropping ( fact ).

WE - the supporters are fading in our enjoyment of watching this poor quality week in week out and I for one am wondering if I shall spend more time and money NOT enjoying my football Club.

EU do you really think that mine, OOT's or anyone else's attitude on here has any reflection on the managers & new players attitude? If it does we are in more trouble on the footballing front than I first thought!

This is a forum for info, banter & opinions.

Also ive been "backing the boys" since 1969, not every game but the one's I could & wanted to go too, that wont change either but there are less & less games at the moment, I wont be at the next two league games due to my daughters birthday next Saturday & then Im off to Histon v Oxford United on the 22nd.

Well your 7-8 years ahead of me in your support, but I'm one of a positive and encouraging character.

I'm one that can see the problems that were already there before SM took over, its just that they are still there and have not been rectified yet.

3 Months is not long enough to judge him, as Wenger says judge him at the end of the season.
