Tonbridge (Falling) Angels 3 Billericay 2

Boy, I can't remember ever feeling this low. Apart from 15 minutes in the first half I thought the lads did okay...you can't fault the effort and it certainly wasn't their fault that the Ref was a mug and feel for every cheat in the book. Still, we have to be bigger than that...we have to be able to beat teams like Tonbridge and learn not hand them goals on a plate.

Still, looking on the bright side, we have to "enetertain" them at our gaff and the memory of this one will stick...

...so, trying to lighten up the mood. I know, we're a long way of for the return match but can anyone think of some songs to that can be played over the PA for when they visit.

I have two...

Elvis Costello "I Can't Stand Up For Falling Down"

Tom Petty "Free Falling"

...anyone got any others?

It was an entertaining game, end to end stuff. The players played as a whole team and worked their socks off, especially in the second half. As for the result, we definately did not deserve to lose tonight.

However i am frustrated! With the officials of tonights game and the tonbridge team. For me they just ruined the game. The football that they were playing was good, so why did they keep falling over? And as for the ref.. well how can he give only 3 minutes added time? When there should have been at least 5 minutes added on. His decision making i thought was poor tonight.

Whilst Tonbridge may have employed the dirty tricks campaign again, I don't understand why they do it. They were a better side than us (IMO) and it seemed to upset their own agenda more than ours, as it did last season. As for us, the end of the season is nigh and the Big Black Hole that is Ryman Premier League obscurity awaits. If we are to be spared slipping into the abyss, then please let the 'particles of god' find a formula and heal Messers Dormer/Cole/Heffer (and pay for another central midfielder) to save our very souls.

I don't know why teams see us as 'dirty'. We go in no harder than other teams. When we beat them we are dirty or fall over merchants. When we lose we are dirty or fall over merchants grin

I'm saying nothing.

No one said you were dirty, B. We just suggested that your players prefer to lie on their backs for some of the game. Oh and one went for a roll on the wet grass.

Frustrating though it was, in hindsight, quite commical.

Mr. Mental, thanks for the offer of a bite to eat but no thanks. I'm all ready spoken for. Nice offer though.

Although a bit early to be talking about "slipping into the abyss of the Ryman League", I believe that if a black hole is produced today, it may well have our name on it.

I like everyone else thought tactics employed left a lot to be desired. Young kids see players falling over and will think it is ok?! - Tonbridge do not need to do this and they would be a better team otherwise. I think Tonbridge shaded it overall but both teams showed frailties. We keep banging on about injuries but we are talking 4 players, and one of which we were without all of last season anyway. I thought we showed more desire once we got back into the game but last night (imo) there were a couple of players lacking in spirit.

Anyway, onwards to Clacton. We do not want another Margetsbury !

Firstly, I really enjoyed the game despite the result. Our games with Tonbridge always seem to produce a bit of incident and this was no different.

Tonbridge have some decent players, I was impressed with their left winger and their right back - it's unusual for a full-back to catch the eye but that guy had the measure of Wareham all night - The irony was that when he went off injured we decided to switch Wareham to the other side!!

Deja vu at 2-0 down, in all honesty at that point it looked like cricket score material, but we somehow managed to get ourselves back to 2-2 (with the aid of an under 8s off-side trap) but our players still looked dejected as they trudged in at half-time.

However I thought we were excellent in the second half, the effort and application from all of the team was there to see and we deserved something from the game. That 45 minutes is the level of performance we must seek to sustain for 90 minutes every week.

I thought the team had a much better balance to it in the second half. Burbridge is being under-used, especially away from home. It's often said that the best 11 players don't necessarily make the best eleven. When we saw our forward options at the start of the season we did wonder how they would all fit in and the answer is they don't - for me one has to go.

Unfortunately though 11 points from 8 games isn't very good. We can't keep bleating about injuries, although it does seem to be taking an earth-shatteringly long time to get these guys back. For me actions speak louder than words and I think it's about time we moved one or two on.

All is far from lost though, hopefully once we are in a position to tighten up our back line, the results might start improving.

FA Cup on Saturday..four wins then Leeds away (not at home please ;-))

I tend to agree with a lot of the above. When it got to to 0-2 last night, I had visions of another Canvey fiasco, but with the help of their defence we pulled it back.

To level just before half time should have been the springboard to go on and win the game, but despite a couple of decent chances in the second half it wasn't to be.

Much as I prefer the side with two wide men they haven't been particularly effective in recent games; last night their right back kept Wareham well in check and maybe sides have worked out how to play against BWG a bit more after last season.

It is still early days but to be in with a chance of the title will require a turn around quick smart.
