50/50 Draw expanded to MyFC members

Just put live on the MyFC site, MyFC members (and anyone on the internet, really), can now purchase 50/50 draw tickets.

These will be put into the same "hat" as the ones purchased on gameday.

Just wondering what the locals think of this, as this was not put to a vote on MyFC.

I think that having two draws would be better for people at the ground - although the prize money would be lower there would be a higher chance of winning. If, week after week, the prize were to go to someone on the internet it could cause resentment or be a disincentive to buy a ticket.

However, I'm not sure how MYFC people would respond to a separate draw as it would partially divorce their draw from the game itself. A MYFC member would have to answer to that.

I would say do not include non-MyFC members, it might bring in a small additional revenue but those at Stonebridge Road may not like their money going to an 'outsider' and may stop buying. I see the 50/50 draw as an added extra opportunity for those attending but I also feel that having separate draws does nothing for MyFC/Local unity. I therefore think that if it goes ahead, integration is the way to go as per the proposal.

I buy a ticket at every match and have yet to be aware of anyone who has won, never been anywhere near someone who has won nor have seen anyone collect their winnings as this is done out of sight in players tunnel, so people like me will be unaware as to whether its an attendee or a MyFC member that has won.....in addition to the tannoy announcement at the ground ask Chas to announce the winner on the internet commentary.

I think this is a fantastic idea. Well done whoever thought of it.

Start of irony bit.

The experience of a virtual fan is growing. You can now listen to Lord Chas live on the interweb and watch the game within hours of it being played (I think?), you've got your e-programme and now you can also partake in the 50-50 draw. When will you be able to buy a vitrtual hotdog?

End of irony bit.

My wallet is stuffed full of 50/50 tickets which i am too lazy to take out. If i do it online, it wont cram my wallet and ergo less paper needed and therefore more eco-friendly smile

I will still lose though, I remember the time last season where i misheard a 9 for a 5 and thought i had won, i was a bit embarrassed.

Overall i think its great, more money to the club and a bigger prize to whoever wins. It will be interesting to find out if overseas MyFC members will want their money in cash or not.

I took an elderly friend to a match at the end of last season. First time for him. He won over

Over the years I have seen several persons win the 50/50. It has even been rumoured that one guy won it 2 weeks running but the odds of that are happening would be totally unbelievable.

I for one would not continue to buy a ticket if it were expanded beyond the ground. Might just as well do the lottery.

No larger than winning the lottery. Winning the jackpot is a 1 in 14 million chance, assuming 300 people (no idea on the actual figure) buy 50/50 then it's only odds of 1 in 90000, if the same guy bought multiple tickets every week that would be dramatically reduced.
