Margate Reserves lost 3-1 this afternoon away at Erith & Belvedere. They started very well and took the lead midway thru' the first half, a great finish by Curtis Robinson who lifted the ball over the advancing keeper in a 1 on 1. However, they eventually succumbed to a much more physical London side who scored 3 goals in the second half. They weren't helped by the referee who selected to administer 4 or 5 finger wagging sessions rather than yellow cards. When he eventually did get the card out (twice) it was too late, as the lads had surrendered to more than 100 slide tackles from 5-6 yards range (connection rate approximately 50%). There were some good performances - Nick Treadwell, and Curtis particularly, but, this was a match of Margate teenagers versus 20something London blokes.

Thanks for the brief report-looks on paper a talented team from the little i have seen and read of these players.

 

As you suggest-arguably just out muscled yesterday.

 

I'm sure they will beat Deal on Tuesday night at HDP.
