Up at 6am for this walk but it's for a very good cause. Anyone who hasn't sponsored or donated yet, please donate when you see us arrive or when you arrive at Berkhamsted today.

I'll be submitting a full report into all the local publications and radio tomorrow once we're done and we hope to raise as much money as possible.

All monies raised will be split between STSA and Slough League Of Friends, and hopefully it will be more than the £1,800 we managed last year, of which, £1,000 went to a very grateful Mary Bloom of the Slough League Of Friends.

Thanks to all those crazy enough to volunteer themselves for the walk. Hopefully it will be as much fun as it was last year.

Many thanks to the 14 who participated and managed to walk to Berko. Two (one being me) did have to get a cab for the last 3.5 miles due to injury, but the others did themselves proud.

The list of people walking was:

Gary Thomas, Glen Riley, John Tebbit, Alan Harding, Chris Sliski, Matt Cleverley, Mark Radford, Chris Boxall, Emma Gammon, Ian Lathey, Kay Lathey, Russ, Dominic Ashford and special thanks again go to Kevin McGoldrick for taking part,

As soon as the figures are collated, I will pass on how much money we have raised between us, but it is hoped to be around £1,500-2,000 which will be split between STSA and Slough League Of Friends.

Congratulations to all who completed the walk to Berko and raised the money for these local good causes.

One more example of the benifits of having a football club in Slough committed to suporting local groups.

It shows how commited STSA are to keep the club going.

Well done all concerened

I hope next years last game is not to far away as it will cost Gary a fortune in taxis

Nobody should be hard on anyone who got injured as it could have been any or all of us on the walk from hell! Within three miles of leaving Wexham Park we were going through cow fields, woods, mud and much more.

Some of the games in Essex would have been easier to walk to given the hills and lack of pavements we encountered all the way which meant walking on treacherous grass verges as cars whistled past at motorway speeds. At one point we gave up trying to balance on kerbs and walked straight down the middle of a very fast road!

Hopefully the pain will have subsided enough to enable us to take part again next year. Well done to everyone who left Wexham Park at 7.35 this morning.

My previous post was not meant to have a go at Gary as I know the injury was genuine.

It was in recognition for all those who give there own time for the benefit of keeping the club going when otherwise it may have already folded.

You're more than welcome to have a little dig! As I said to the group of walkers, I'm putting in double the taxi fare (£7.50 fare) into the team sponsor form as a show of gratitude for those who did complete the whole distance.

My guess is it was more than twenty miles, a lot more. It certainly feels like it this morning!

I know you weren't having a go Staines Rebel, I was just stressing the point about how tough it was

If it's any consolation Gary, I've had to visit the Walk in NHS Centre in Slough this morning to see whether they can do anything with the blood blister on my right foot which is the size of half a golf ball!

Next year if I am feeling brave enough I might even do the walk with you so we can compare sizes of blisters!

Well done the walkers!!!
