Slough Express and Their Cut and Paste journalism

I hope some people have managed to see the vast similarities between my last match report of our 1-1 draw 2 weeks ago and the version of events in the express; for anyone who hasn't seen this... by some amazing co-incidence the express 'reporter' has written EXACTLY the same as me for 2 whole paragraphs and the rest of it's report seems to be my words re-arranged. They have been contacted and asked to call and discuss the matter or apologise in the paper, as this has not been forthcoming i thought id write it here as i guess they check here/the official site after matches to write their 'reports'.

Express if you want match reporters write here and im sure people would happily send their reports to you, as well as pictures if you so require. That way there would be no more of this unethical borrowing without people's permission. I wonder if i re-wrote an express story and made people believe it was my own whether theyd be so understanding? Especially as i always believed plagurism was quite a big deal with newspapers? I await a response.

Know how you feel. Its only been a couple of years since the Express nicked my reports word for word without permission. When I contacted them about this I recieved an email which basically said that "we can't afford to send reporters to games, therefore we're going to nick yours instead".

I would suggest it's something to do with the entire Express series being under fire at the moment. Funds are extremely limited and I believe there's only two people covering the sports desk. Like Marcus said, I'm sure no-one would begrudge having their match reports printed in the paper as long as they're attributed.
