Well after a wicked long weekend in Barcelona (well apart from watching the England match) finding out the result on Saturday night made my weekend even better and to do it with 10 men is awesome. Just wish I was there for that game instead of the dross in Espanyol!!

Delighted for DJ and really looking forward to Saturday now, although it will be very difficult i'm sure we'll have a lot of supporters there and have a great time.

I think I have that on camera, I'll dig it out and add it to my Taunton page. I missed that when I was going through them.

From the Taunton website...

TAUNTON Town suffered their fourth defeat by the odd goal of the season when they went down 3-2 at home to Slough Town in Diviison 1 South and West of the BGB Southern League this afternoon (Sept 6).

Slough, who had not won a match this season, played for 74 minutes with only ten men after having centre-back and captain Luke Evans sent off for a reckless tackle. Yet they often looked the better side.

Taunton never made the extra man count and paid the penalty for poor marking with twin strikers Matthew Platt and Danny Jordan allowed to roam freely throughout the game.

It was Platt who put Slough ahead in the 53rd minute from close range after some sloppy play in Taunton's defence, and Dean Harper made it 2-0 from the penalty spot in the 60th minute after Lee Bridson had brought down Byron Bubb.

Charlie Welch pulled a goal back with a fine shot in the 74th minute but Jordan fired in another for Slough to make it 3-1 in the 83rd minute.

Skipper Lee Groves scored Taunton's second - from the penalty spot during injury time after Harper handled.

TAUNTON Town boss Ian Jones has described his side's poor display in the 3-2 home defeat by Slough Town in Division 1 South and West of the BGB Southern League on Saturday as "unacceptable."

Slough, who had not won a match this season, played for 74 minutes with only ten men after centre back and skipper Luke Evans was sent off for a reckless tackle on Jason Burt.

Yet Slough often looked the better side and deserved to take all three points from their first victory.

"I am not accepting this kind of performance from the players," said a fuming Jones afterwards. "The only reason they'll get another chance on Saturday is that it is an FA Cup tie.
