Injury to Bowers Player

Recommended Posts

Yep, young Ashley Pidworth has broken his Tibia and was operated on this morning. I'm gutted for him and his dad who watches every game.

Get well soon Ashley, all the best mate.

Ash and his Dad would like to thank everyone who has sent on their best wishes, it has been really appreciated by the both of them and in fact our club.

I would personally like to thank London APSA for all their help last night and the officials for making the right decision to abandon the game.

Ash will be in Hospital over the weekend, he came out of recovery shortly after 10.30am and thankfully was only put in a plaster cast, no pins or cradles. Will probably be out for 4/6 months.

But again from me, many thanks to all the clubs who have sent on their best wishes.

I think it is about time there was some sort of inquiry as to why there is always a long wait for ambulances for football injuries. There was an hour wait at Brimsdown a couple of weeks ago, again for a broken leg, and I remember being at a reserve team match at Haringey a few seasons ago when a Haringey player broke his leg. It was so obvious, when it happened, that about 10 of us dialled 999 straight away. Again there was a very long wait. There must be lots of other people with the same stories to tell. Maybe Clubs should all send any details they have, of these long waits, to the Health Minister at Parliament. OK, leg injuries may not be life threatening,(but then again who knows what complications may arise) but its worrying to think it could just as well be a neck or spine injury.

mate i agree, i fractured my foot 2 seasons ago when i was 16 years old and a team mate had a suspected broken ankle in the same game and it took an hour for a rapid responc unit to arrive 5 minutes before and ambulance. the stupid hospital mis diagnosed my fractured as a sprain, which i then broke after only having 3 weeks off. F>U>C>K>I>N>G stupid NHS.
