The Lads

are doing us proud , can`t ask anymore of them for the effort they are giving , Lee is a great addition to the team and his height will be very affective for us , i just feel that we still need a front man with a bit more drive than we have at the mo , stick Ryan just behind the front men and we have a winning formula . Well done BA well done Smithy and well done all in the BLUE SHIRTS OF MARGATE . Up the Gate .

Totally agree HF. It's all about attitude and the lads seem to have a good attitude. I wonder what the average age of the squad is, especially in comparison with last year. All our promising youngsters compared to last seasons journeymen squad. I almost have a feel good factor, I say almost as I still worry about the stadium issues AND WHY THE HELL THERE IS NO FORTHCOMING INFORMATION. In the meantime though lets enjoy the progression of Barry's Babes.

Totally agree, and i think there is a undercurrent of total support for the management and players this season that has not been there since our first season in the conference national.

i guess its down to reduced expectations.

having said that, i do not think we should get carried away with the youth and inexperience theme.

We are told average age is 21. I guess 22 if paul Smith plays.

Frankly-that average age is not that young, and i suspect there are 4/5 ryman teams with similar av ages.

Similarly-inexperience-well SCS, Corbishley, Young, Smith, Gregory, P Smith, maskell, Wilson, Hickman, Quain, Peters, Power, Morris, Mullins and probably others, have all played at ryman or higher level before this season;so maybe we are not quite as either young or inexperienced as we perceive.

As posted by Hornet above though, the difference is these are not 'journeyman' doing the rounds, and we recognise and applaud that.

Stubbs, maskell and coleman for example were i believe in the same gravesend PASE team as Akinde,so why can't they achieve the same as him.

BA has done good in putting an every improving squad together-young(ish) and inexperienced(ish) but not that wet behind the ears.

The main thing is, we are totally behind them.

Well I think most on here know who I mean Frankie. One in particular springs to mind who always has negative comments and as yet I don't think I have seen him at a game!

To be fair, i thought there were/are very few who are outrightly negative.

Does it really matter if there are a few in this category anyway.

Sometimes it does give balance and perspective;and all are entitled to their views.

Nobody has to agree with those views.

Nobody is right or wrong imo.its simply-'interesting'.

My perspective this season is completely different to the last two months of last season. After enduring in diplomatic silence no progress whatsoever under RT for 20 months.By March last year ,i had had enough and expressed my thoughts on this forum. From silence-i expressed criticism of RT.Was that so wrong.

Whilst i am really enthusiastic about what is happpening with the playing side of the club now,i welcome the more cautious standpoint of others to keep us `in check';and i would not want this forum to become solely used by those among us with sycophantic tendencies.

Us humans are strange creatures, and is it just possible that some of those expressing negative comments on forums and at games are actually some of the most stalwart and vehement supporters of the team, managers and players.

People act differently-in private and in public- and whilst we may not like how some people express themselves, are we correct in condemning their behaviour as wrong.(although i agree that there is a difference between abuse and criticism)

Ultimately,is the sole arbiter in all of this ,very simply the number of spectators who attend the games.

whilst attendances have not been brilliant this season, they do seem to be consistent which is good;and certainly, the alarming freefall in attendances that we have seen over the last 18 months appears to have been arrested .

The consistency of the attendance-not necessarily directly related to results-augers well for me

Hopefully there will be another crowd approaching 500 there tomorrow-although the inclement weather may have a negative say in that.

They are doing good.Just a "don't concede the nil" for once & we are getting there.Oh,& please B.A, put Peters just behind the front men(as others have said). That's where he was most dangerous last season, coming onto defences from the full backs role. Put him slightly deeper in midfield,& he will scare the sh*** out of them.As an out-out-striker,a target man, sorry, but in my book he's not one.

Up front? Pratt has to be my first choice but who plays with him(if indeed anyone...I'm not sure but Peters is less effective there.)

We have to compete with their midfield tomorrow as they have a very good one(Hodges excellent little player)& their defence isn't too bad either(very solid centre-half).Get down those wings & you have the key to a victory.

Good luck to the guys down to play tomorrow & "give em hell".

Nice to see such a large amount of us getting on , one of the reasons i put the topic on here i was getting fed up with the other topics , most start off footy related and end up going onto something else but this one`s a good one . Lets hope the lads read this and then they will really believe that we are behind them . Again well done to BA and Smith and all in the BLUE SHIRTS OF MARGATE , If the fans are happy like the squad then there is nothing wrong in my book .

Who would wana be a Premiership surporter ah . Up the Gate .
