Harlow result

The team played very well tonight the penalty should have been a free kick outside the box, our goal was a great finish and gave the Harlow goalkeeper no chance. Our last min goal should have been allowed as there was a fifty-fifty ball which we won but the Ref obviously wanted to keep on the right side of the Harlow fans so deemed the match a draw. The game could easily have been ours but for really poor finishing, we need a couple of proven goalscorers.

I heard that the Harlow keeper kept them in it to a large degree. I agree that we need a natural scorer/poacher but as the team gell, and with the new addition of Lee Maskell, being a predominantly holding midfielder, I think that one or two goals will come from other players that will be freed up.As the lads get to know each other better, and each others movement particularly, the goals will come more and more.I also think that their confidence needs to build more. It doesnt help,as during home games that I've attended, that certain 'supporters' resort to unecessary verbal abuse of our lads as I witnessed from behind the home goal on Saturday during the second half. They are more nervous playing at home than away which is evident from most of the performances and results IMO. By the way the bloke who called Dan Stubbs, no.8, a w****r on sat gets that one for free, but not the next one. They all need encouragement if the best of them for the rest of the season is to be seen.Players may be needed and that may happen in the near future but for now we have to make do.All that said I still feel that they will do the club proud and get results that will suprise a few.

With you on that one Ronks, the boys need us right behind them not shouting abuse.

Anyone who's watched these first few games will realise that Stubbs inparticular has worked his socks off for this club and been one of our most consistant, so to hide in a crowd and barrack him just goes to prove the old adage "it takes one to know one"

I'm enjoying the games more this season than I have for a while due to the lack of expectation and the fact that the team seems to be improving with every match makes it all the better.

BA is building a good squad IMO and we can play our part in that by being there and cheering them on.

I must say that I find it hard to understand how ardent, long term supporters of a team and club would rather contribute to the failure, and revel in it too, rather than be patient and enjoy and be part of the success in the future. Especially when they pay 9 quid plus to get into the ground. That type are everywhere I know but they still get up my nose and imo are a waste of space. I suppose the positive is that they are stupid enough not to realise that they are contributing to the clubs financial stability by dipping into their pockets every other week.......lol.I dont like to moan so this post is a one off I promise!!

Regarding people shouting personal abuse at players, if they are pointed out to a steward or Peter the safety officer they will have a quiet word in their ear. Have seen it happen already several times this season!
