y would anyone begrudge ursell? end of the day, a players career is short, and i dont think he earms thousands a week at his job so if he gets a "nice" offer then fair play to him

 

still a [****!!****] sunday league he has chosen to play in tho!

My last comments on this; Most people play for the love of the game. If you get paid then that's even better, but dropping down a league to play is ridiculous. It's a bit like a premiership footballer dropping down to the Championship because he'll get paid more. To me it just shows a) a lack of ambition and B) a lack of loyalty. He'll only move on once the next big offer comes along or when he gets bored of getting splinters in his a*s!!

or. the Wallingford, Godalming, Merstham. Walton Casuals players of their years. They all went up or won the league because they had the biggest wage bills.

AFC Wallingford is a great example. They had a big budget, won the league, but couldn't go up, and last year they resigned from the Hellenic to play in the North Berks League. Its all fine until the money men get bored!

Exactly, if you want out of this league then it comes at a big financial cost. Everybody will be happy once Chertsey have achieved promotion as there will be talk of an open and even contest next year but the truth is another club will pump some money in and be favourties.
