The club shop at Fortress Meadow

Will the club shop at Stag Meadow ever sell anymore merchandise than old programs (the match day program), badges and magnets? Also will it remain in the small cave like hole next to the turnstiles or is there a plan to move it and stock it with the likes of WEFC scarves, the home and away strips and other merchandise?

I for one would like to drink my tea from a specially commissioned Windsor and Eton Football Club cup

Yes and no.

We have decided that rather than having all the club shop money tied up in stock we would have a 'catalogue' of clothing, and other items that could be ordered when needed. This not only ensures we don't have endless stuff we can't get rid of but it also give the supporters more choice.

As for other items like mugs and scarves we looked into this before and the amount that you have to order to make it worthwhile is quite high, but if you know of anywhere that does them cheap and small minimum orders then send me the details to webmaster@wefc.co.uk

As for the replica shirts, they are due to arrive next week and will be announced once they arrive.

It's only just moved back to the 'cave'! Better there than tucked away behind the stand next to the treatment room!

As for Mugs just look around you you'll find plenty. Ba-dum-ching

No one really wants to use the catalogue and have to wait for 10 people to buy the same thing before they can have it.

People want to be able to buy stuff then and there plus away support buy the odd thing too.

Selling old programmes at 20p a go and this seasons programmes at a quid is hardly going to produce the club any revenue.

What has happened to the

further more:

Many attempts in the close season were made to have a talk about the shop which my dad was able to attend every time but due to other peoples commitments kept getting cancelled.

Next thing he knows this catalogue idea was brought in without him even knowing.

As he runs the shop and knows what sells and how it is run surely he should have a casting vote?

This is my opinion from what I see from the outside and not my dad's opinion. He doesn't have access to the web. Maybe someone should include him in these conversations or give him their opinions next time they see him.

Just a few responses to your statements

1)How do you know no one wants to use the catalgue?

2)How often do away supportsers buy our clothing?

3)Theres no point buying in stock in advance as we could get in the same situationas before where we have loads leftover and money is then wasted

furthermore

Your dad did know about the catalogue idea as it was mentioned a few times to him at the pre season games.

It was also discussed (briefly I admit) at both league games so far.

with the catalgue idea 10 items do need to be sold before we can put in an order but they can each be a different item/colour/size.

We already have 7 items ordered, im sure by 4.45 on sat we will have enough to make an order.

unfortunatly due to the size of our fans base we are never going to have club shop scheme that is perfect, but this way at least we wont have wasted stock.

As malcolm has already mentioned our issue is with mugs, scarves, etc. The min quanity we need to order is too high. If we find a company that has a low min order we will buy inadvance, as they will always sell and away teams will buy them.

OK let me put this straight I am not totally against the catalogue but I think we do need some things in the shop to sell as well.

In response to you questions:

1) Maybe no one is a bit harsh. Most people I spoke to on match days were not interested.

2) I did say rarely but it does happen on the cold winter nights.

3) How do all other clubs manage to get stock in? Have we spoken to any of them?

Mentioned a few times to him is not making an collective decision.

It was also discussed briefly at both league games so far is not a collective decision.

With the catalgue idea 10 items do need to be sold before we can put in an order but they can each be a different item/colour/size. Why would you want a different colour surely it should be red or green? smile

We already have 7 items ordered, im sure by 4.45 on sat we will have enough to make an order. Fair enough I stand corrected but when the orders get lower how are you going to maintain keeping those people happy who are waiting on the possibility of 10 orders being made?

unfortunatly due to the size of our fans base we are never going to have club shop scheme that is perfect, I totally agree with this but to buy a batch of mugs no matter how big an order will always go by home and away fans. Scarves will always go too what difference does it make if there is a big order of them. I don't think they will be a waste of money they will sell for seasons to come. It is difficult but selling just programmes doesn't produce enough revenue.

I am only expressing an opinion I am not saying it is correct.

It all boils down to the club in the end and maybe someone having a good sit down and a chat with my Dad.

Humpty,

You have your right to express your opinion,

However, again yesterday your dad mentioned the catalogue is the best way to go.

Rather then speak on his behalf maybe you should talk to him first...and if you have done and what your saying is his opinion why has he not expressed that on a saturday.

We may used the money raised yesterday to buy in some 'cheaper' clothing in advance for the odd person who wants to buy it there and then. This will only be a few items though.

Not everybody wants to wear read or green clothing so the catalogue gives them thier own choice of colour

Windsorfc,

Yes I do have my right to express an opinion.

If my Dad mentioned that the catalogue is the best way to go then fair enough.

As I said in my previous posts if you read them properly is that this is my own opinion and NOT the opinion of my dad.

The money raised should be used for Mugs and Scarves they are always wanted and will always sell. If it will only be a few cheap items in the shop then the shop wont make much money this season.

Not everybody wants to wear read or green!!! Well it is the clubs colour!!!

Next thing you'll be saying is that we will only be able to order online!!!!

In anything you had to say? wink

Smithson on saturday at least ten items of clothing were brought and most of them were not red and green!! With the catalogue the football club now has a massive amount of clothing to choose from. Tell me is that a bad thing!?

Dan- I forgot to ask when i ordered how long will they take to come?

Smithson has a good point here, perhaps the club can entertain this idea and provide the fans with these items in the shop throughout the season!

As for the catalogue... Could it not be made available to view online also? If not the whole thing, maybe a number of items. As the club shop page on the website has been rather bleak for some time!

On both of Smithsons and my points what do you think?

The issue with the mugs and scarves is simple, you have to order too many which ties up too much money.

If someone can find a company that wil supply them 20 ish at a time then we can seriously think about it.

As for the catalogue, yes this will be available very soon. The catalogue that was on show on Saturday was a very rushed one and will be expanded. Once we have this sorted then we will get it online as well.

We are not against these items being in the club shop it is just a matter of of not having all the supporters club money tied up in shop stock and unable to do anything else.

I know its your opinion, however in a number of your previous posts you mentioned how we should have involved your dad. I was mearly saying we have.

Also people have red and green windsor clothing already and want other colours. Only 1 of the ordered items on sat was red or green.

I can order 5/6 red and green mix t-shirts to sell in the shop. So at least we have a small number of clothing to see. But anymore would tie up too much money.

Wood dog, I will be ordering stuff Friday and upto 10 days. So will have them for cinderford on 27th.

Finally, it has been suggested by someone that the club shop should all be done on line.
