Death Of A Party

The death of the party came as no surprise

Why did we bother?

We should have stayed away

The death of the teenager standing on his own

Why did he bother?

He should have slept alone

Another night

And I thought 'Well, go to another party and hang myself gently on the shelf'

You're into your Blur, ain't you Colin?

Good album that, Beetlebum, Song Two, Out on your Own, You're so Great and Killer for your Love are quality songs.

Right people here's another piece of poetry to make you feel depressed!

I'm older than I wish to be

This town holds no more for me

All my life I try to find another way

I don't care for your attitude

You bring me down I think you're rude

All my life I try to make a better way

It's hard enough being alone

Sitting here by the phone

Waiting for the memories

To come and play

It's hard enough sitting there

Rockin' in your rockin' chair

It's all to much for me to take

When you're not there

Suitably depressed!

For those of you who don't know this is the b-side 'Rockin' Chair' by Oasis from the 'Roll With It' single.

However, I have to disagree that this is a depressing song. I think it's quite positive- it's all about moving on, forgetting about the people, the places and things that make you feel like sh*t on a shoe. Also, it's an Oasis song, so it must have an optimistic element to it.

Correct Chubbhead. Also on it's on the Masterplan CD. One of Oasis' most underrated songs. Should have been the A side instead of 'Roll With It'.

I think it is a great, great song. The lyrics are a touch melancholy but the melody heartwarming.

I was going to put Sad Song on here but couldn't remember all the lyrics. I've another poem/song up my sleeve that is definitely rather depressing (it's not Radiohead by the way) that I'll put on here over the weekend. I doubt anybody will recognise it but it's a great song.

Or a sad song in a lonely place

I'll try and put a word in for you

Need a shoulder,well if that's the case

You know there's nothing I wouldn't do...

Yeah great MKJ!

Here's my top 5 Oasis B sides:

1: The Masterplan

2: Acquiesce

3: Rockin Chair

4: Sad Song

5: Full On

Yo can also add in a possible top 10 'It's Good to be Free', 'Underneath the Sky', 'I Got the Fever' and 'The Fame'

Ironically I'm listening to 'The Masterplan' at the moment, that's how I got the idea for putting 'Rockin' Chair' on here.

"but it's all just the same at the end of the day,

So don't throw it all away"

Amazing!

Night Chubbster, have a good weekend!

Will try and get the lyrics for my mystery song put on here tomorrow. I can reveal it is not Oasis! This song was released as a single but unless you own the album you might not recognise it. In my opinion I think this song is very underrated but you might not agree!

Oh of course- It's Good To Be Free, I had lyrics from this as one of my signatures a couple of weeks back. That'll have to be no.6. I stopped buying the singles after Be Here Now, not coz the tracks aren't good, just prefer not to buy cd's these days...

What do pints make...?

"It's not in what you say, it's in what you do"

Was that the lyrics you meant MKJ?

Agree with CANV. When I was 16 I was listening to Oasis, Blur, U2 stuff like that. I suppose people in their late twenties will think the early indie music of the 90s was the best music.
