It's now morning - come to think of it, it was morning last night when I did the report - and I still cannot understand why the replacement referee waved the red card. All Mark Goodfellow did was to try and get the ball back quickly when the home player was 'reluctant' to release it for the free kick. The replacement referee reacted to the home team and to the handful of spectators alongside the wall.

 

Please note that the referee named on the Cantos, Sid, Nette and Bitch roadshow is incorrect - the programme referee was not there, the one with the whistle (and he really liked using it) was Lee Collins.

 

Tooting's new ground has no cover along the standing side, but two identical small covered stands at each end of their steep terracing behind the goals - it would appear that it was designed by an arctitect intent on winning a prize rather than with the spectators in mind as the roof slopes upwards and the rain will almost certainly drift in underneath.

 

Nice complex, apart from the poor quality of the floodlights. An all weather pitch as you come in, plus a large leisure facility, car park somewhat on the small side. The most expensive part of the ground is surely the carpet inside the directors lounge - it is incredible and worth a visit just to tread on it.

 

The winner of the golden goal was whoever had the ticket with the 63rd minute on it - this must have been a bit of a surprise to the winner, since the goal actually came in the 66th minute.
