It was quite funny to hear the Southend fellow on the bench (think it was the manager) moan walking of at half time that all we are going to do is sit on the 1-0 lead then see him walk off the bench then out the ground after the fourth goal went in

Moan Walking or Moon Walking, please say it was the latter, that would be so cool. laugh

Seriously JJ, a one off freak result or a sign of something more worrying?

Im am really hoping just a freak result mate although as mentioned by little legs, in my opinion last night was an utter disgrace.

I feel that I personally tried to make things happen and I feel that a few others did, unfortunatley a few people went missing. Football is a team game though so we all need to work together otherwise it dont happen!

Not a pretty sight for the non-used players and commitee members who were at the game! blush

Superb finishing combined with Catastrophic errors absolutley killed us. We were 1-0 down at half time, and were finally playing some decent football in the last 10-15 minutes of the first half.

We came out for the second half fired up, then an absolute howler, a superb strike and a defensive lapase within 5 minutes saw us 4-0 down!

A minute or so from the end summed up our night....with practically an open goal we hit the bar from 2 yards out!

I did tell Enrico trapatoni to buy huntelaar for some much needed fire power but the deal was pulled last minute. Great performance from the blues and roll on sat.

We got the ok from the FA to sign him,he's in the bag and don't worry about the frik result. We have a big squad and some players need match fitness and others rest, certainly we take our chances and it ends up 8-3...Fa Vase is the priority the same as the league, league cup format doesn't interest some clubs.Personally i would rather train and recover players.

It was a good night at Takeley. Their pitch is small and their team have plenty of big, strong players. With a mix of pace and long passing they play to their strengths perfectly.

Although it was by no means a full-strength Bees side, Takeley won in such a way that I know they'd give our full side a much harder time now than on the first day of the season. Basildon never let their heads drop, they were just beaten by a better side on the night.

The hosts were excellent company too, with local character Del regaling us with his life stories, always with a twinkle in his eye. Everyone was nothing less than magnanimous in victory and, although we were beaten, you couldn't help feeling pleased for those that have put so much effort into getting Takeley into Step 5 football.
