When and who will BA make his next signings

A bit of a concurrent theme from BA over the last few weeks is hi expressed desire to add quality to the squad.

Thats fantastic, and really look forward to hearing about some new signings.

Having said that, despite our lowly position,i don't feel that there is a major shortfall in the squad ,and i for one, think the squad as assembled is ok and probably better than hoped for.

If the squad is good enough to stave off relegation is a different question, but my expectations are pretty low this season anyway.

Thus for me-and unlike seasons past-any signings would be a bonus .

Having said that in the ideal world, i guess i would like to see the addition of another quality central midfield player as between them, Wilson, Stubbs, Smith and Morris are going to get injuries, fatigue, suspensions.

The addition of another quality striker,( it seems Dover are pretty intent on getting a new striker aswell-i wonder whether that would make Welford available ?)

and the addition of a quality full back.

In the ideal world, thats 3 positions and if BA were to fulfill those, i reckon the team could finish top half.

I think BA has intimated he wants to get at least a couple of players-i wonder what positions he sees the need in?

I wonder what postions any other forum posters see the need in

My only concern is that BA is intimating they will be loan players-i always question the commitment of loan players; albeit i guess its a good way for club and player to see if they like each other and make it permanet later.

Looking on Teletext there are quite a few clubs releasing players now the deadline is upon us. Although not affecting non league clubs the number of players available will filter down to non league, so we may pick up someone soon.

Sorry the first part of my post was in reply to your comment about siging these players that have been released by football league sides. Sorry about the confusion there

  • 3 weeks later...

The 'quality full back' vacancy also seems to have been fulfilled;

and of the three positions to fulfill on the wish list ,i think the striker is least important-i still reckon Power and Pratt could 'make it',and another striker would just be a bonus
