Considering the heat, the circumstances we find ourselves in and the fact that our opponents are one of the early flyers of the season, I would've settled for this scoreline. As the game proceeded, we had the better chances to score but still gave Crashalton too much respect in the middle of the park, which gave their forwards opportunities to expose our defence. When we went 2 - 1 up, I thought we could nick it but for a piece of defending madness which allowed Richard Jolly a run at (and through) our defence to score their equaliser.

 

In some ways, over the 90 minutes, the scoreline is a fair reflection of the game. In my opinion, the heat did effect the performance of both teams and both teams will breathe a sign of relief following their collective Bank Holiday results.

 

All in all, we're at the end of August, five games into the season and yes, we're mid table but we'll wait for April to see if it is, as some say "obscurity". It's a little to early for that piece of pessimism, in my opinion. Lets get behind the team and encourage the players and be a part of what I'm sure will be a successful season.
