Please change your Directory entry for Terry Reardon he was a midfield player, yes he played as a striker and also a centre half a few times also.

RWG, thanks for your contribution. I am working on adding the players in from 1973 onwards as this is the information I have at present.

Over that period we used over 470 players so this obviously takes some time to put in. Any information you can provide on the older players would be most welcome.

Except that it wasn't Alan Gane at who played at Wembley, it was Kenny Gaine, whom Tommy Lawrence signed from Epping Town. "I know 'cause I was there."

Like I imagine many others who cannot be bothered to contribute to these tedious and repetitive arguments, I too know a lot about Slough's history. As a long-standing director of a Ryman league club that is currently quite successful but has enjoyed/suffered its fair share of ups and downs over the past thirty years, I also know that in the real world it doesn't matter who played for you last week if you can't afford their wages this week.

Re-establishing a secure and successful football club in Slough is clearly going to be an enormous task. It seems to me, admittedly from a distance, that, in the absence of a magic wand/rich benefactor, the people now running the show are putting an enormous amount of effort into reviving what many others would have given up as a lost cause and for that alone are deserving of our support.

Cheers, Gary

Yesterday's result aside, the on the field arrangements are going well and the club and its supporters have been made very welcome by our Worthing hosts. As we expected, attendances have fallen but maybe not by as many as some people feared. It's the continuing off the field problems over the sale of Queen Street/purchase of Holbrook/planning permission for new ground that are prolonging the headaches. I guess the bet I had with Martyn Deaner that we would get a new ground before he did must now be regarded as void.
