Oxford United Match

I think this will be a tougher match than it was against Stevenage Borough. Oxford United do have players coming back through suspension and through injury. Their striker Jamie Guy (who I believe played with us for a while?) is expected to make a full ninety minutes. Oxford haven't had the best performances of late, but they are a team capable of scoring goals, hence the 6-3 win over Eastbourne Borough, but our solid defence should keep them scoring that amount.

Here's what the Oxford United gaffer has to say.

I think we definately need to put on the same type of show as we did against Stevenage, definately not the type of performance against Lewes. I'd like to see Kezie Ibe get more of a game to prove himself, I believe he can get stuck into the team more and more. I think the defence will stay as it has over the past three games. In the midfield - Stacy Long, Neil Barrett, Craig Stone and George Purcell (Darren Hand or Dean Pooley coming on into the midfield in the second half), with Michael Gash and Luke Moore up front. Whether John Akinde will play or not, I'm not sure.

My prediction is a 2-1 win, and hopefully a crowd of around 1800.

C'mon the Fleet.

Even Brian Kilcullen admitted some of the attendances quoted last year were curious.

Mostly they look spot on - which is why the anomlous ones stand out like a sore thumb!

Reckon on Oxford bringing 600, I also think our home supportis up from the 1000 last year to around 1400 - expect circa 2000 on Saturday - and a similar crowd on tuesday.

Old timer? Sounds like you're just a slip of a lad. What description do I use with still liking the Kinks and Cliff Bennett & the Rebel Rousers? smile

When I started at the club, there were certain "anomalies" in how the numbers were calculated and announced. The number put out over the tannoy now should match the number of clicks on the turnstiles.

And from this week, we will be announcing the total, "including xxx visitors from xxxxxxxxxxx"

Of course, the away number can only be taken from the number of fans coming through the away turnstiles and won't include those who sneak through the home end. But it should give a good indication over a period of time.
