I'd say that the amount of alcohol needed to help you express pride in your team & town is inversly proportionate to how deserving that team & town are.

 

On that basis, you're in for a treat when you visit 'ricay

We were without Wareham, Dormer, Cole, Heffer & Woods-Garness plus Matt Game who's still out from last seasons visit to the Bridge.

 

5 or 6 there who would walk straight into the starting 11. But C****y can only beat whats put in front of them and they did that convincingly.

We had half a team out with injuries but that isn't an excuse. As showed on Saturday, we had enough experienece on the park yesterday to not get beat...

 

Did the score line flatter? Lets just say, in my opinion, the score line say's more about our performance than it does Canvey's.

It's undeniable that Ricay were missing some big players. Were we also without the likes of Leon Antoine, Danny Curran, Andrew West, but I think you edge it on the injury front.

 

However, I honestly think that if we play football as well as we did yesterday then we will turn a lot of teams over. We had many players deserving of man of the match, but David Lee was just awesome. I also thought that Tarkan Mustafa and Leon Gordon down the right wing were a constant thorn in your side.

 

I'm not going to get involved with the name calling (did enough of that at the game, believe me!!), but needless to say I am looking forward to the match at your place where I'm sure your boys will be more up for it (both fans and players).

A fair post, TGE, apart from the above statement I don't think you should get too carried away yet. But time will tell for both of us.

I do honestly believe that. That was a good a footballing performance as I have seen from a Canvey team in 4 years. However, I would be very surprised if we are able to play like that every week, but if we do I think we will beat most teams in this division.
