Gotta agree with alot of what you're saying Dutch, not seen enough of Pratt myself to judge but he's only gonna be able to replace one of them so Power would be my choice.

As disinterested as he's seemed Ryan is still capable of winning us a game, a feat probably beyond Power in current form (please god prove me wrong).

As for commitment and workrate, that was seriously diminished with the substituion of Stubbs, who again pushed Wilson as our best player on the park.

The vocal support side of things (gotta be careful here) as goes numbers has been declining for some time now and only really picks up when theres something to sing about (wrong i know) but its always easier to "sing when you're winning"

Maybe some of us had gotten used good times and find it hard to muster the enthusiasm of days gone by.

A good atmosphere at the Crap-hole monday is definately needed to lift the team after yesterday so i for one will be making the effort.

Absolutely agree with the complaint, Dutch Mike. Whilst I am no singer, I do lend vocal encouragemnt. However, yetsreday I felt like I was an away fan! Admittedly there wasn't alot to shout about, but I did try and offer encouragement where I could. There are bus-loads of 'Waldorf and Stadtler' types this year though - Where have they all come from?

Also agree about the comment about Power. I have barely noticed him doing anything constructive so far, but await his hat-trick which will now follow to make me look foolish!

One point from yesterday-is Sam Taylor injured ?

I ask, as our subs bench was arguably inbalanced-two full backs-when you already have Corbs who can play on either side, and Morris who in a real emergency can also play full back.

If Taylor was injured-fair enough-if not-did BA make a bit of an error by not having a central defender on the subs bench.

Easy to be wise in hindsight, and a good learning for BA maybe (who i reckon has done a really good job to date ).

We will never know, but you do always need two 'proper' central defenders out there-come what may-imo-which is why i was delighted that we appear to have Smith,Young and Taylor to perm two from three (maybe even Sappleton-but i am yet to be convinced he is not a figment of my imagination).

Would we have defended a bit better if we had another central defender as a sub.?

maybe Taylor is not fit-although looked alright on tueday !

Again, not there ,so hard to pass judgement, but it does seem that the players have to take major responsibility for the apparently very poor second half performance since many teams play aswell or even better once they go down to 10 men and adversity strikes. As others suggest-a bit of a lack of leadership and seige mentality exposed there.

Its difficult to say6 if the determining factor was the sending off or going 2-0. I guess the smart money would be a mixture of both.

I had assumed that heads went down after the second due to inexperience on the pitch and a lack of leadership to try and raise things to achieve that 'triumph in the face of adversity' feeling.

However, it would also be fair to say that going a man short and not having the experience to 'deal' with that situation may have been the main factor (although Tom Hickman was doing a bit of hollering when he came on).

As a side issue, if a sub is sent off before coming on, you'd think that, in order to serve any kind of purpose, the penalised team would be denied the opportunity of fielding a third sub. If the manager is sent from the dugout, there is some kind of disadvantage to the offending side, as with a player on the field.

Obviously this would have had no effect on yesterday's match, but I just thought it was odd, as there appears to be no benefit to us for him being sent from the 'field'. I guess it happens that rarely that it isn't really an issue.

problem we have is the same as any other team that has tried to use a young squad.

form produced by young players is usualy inconsistent, and that is certainly the case with these boys.

this hase been there to see in there performance's so far, this is not a problem that can resolved over night,we will just have to be patient for a few games (months).

You are right Homeforgood,-and it will be a problem.

We have hardly been consistent the previous two seasons either however.

Difference is this season, we will be inconsistent at a lower level of performance and thus accumulate fewer points.

All i want is enough points to avoid relegation though, and i still believe these guys-players and management- are good enough to achieve that .
