Stevenage Borough match

Is anyone aware of where you can or cannot stand in the Stadium? Would it be correct to say that you are not allowed to stand in any area boarded or taped off and anywhere that yellows lines have been painted? Oh of course permanently in seated areas of course. If this is the case can the new Stewards be made aware, So that they stop trying to move people away from areas that are not marked off as unsuitable areas for spectator viewing.

Excellent performance yesterday, Stevenage never really turned up and Lance didnt have much to do only than pick the ball up after a tame shot or two. Very good agressive play which i like to see in a team. Missed the first goal though (like i always seem to do) when getting a cold dog.

Hope we can do the same against Lewes on Monday.

An absolutely brilliant result against one of our "bogey" teams. The performance was professional throughout the team and the ninety minutes. Fantastic goal by Neil Barrett, and an almost "Ronaldo style" back heel from Big John.

Can't wait for the trip down to Lewes tomorrow. Let's hope the team can keep up the good work.

Poor - but he wasn't alone.

Unsurprisingly there were calls from the terrace questioning whether his move was such a good idea - but those from the Stonebridge Road side that went further into the realms of personal abuse were frankly unnecessary towards a player who was arguably man of the match for us at Wembley. It wouldn't surprise me if the odd braindead individual even descends to the same levels when McPhee returns to Stonebridge Road with Weymouth in December.

A superb performance yesterday, as at Torquay, but it's vital we don't take tomorrow's game for granted and assume we'll win. It would be typical of the league's inconsistency, and ours, if we lost, so ensuring over-confidence doesn't creep in is the key.

McPhee's reception should be different, he actually moved from the club for family reasons, not knowing he'll be going to Weymouth F.C. and that's understandable, whereas Bostwick chose Westley's Stevenage over signing a new contract for us.

Anyone know how much compensation we got from Stevenage for Michael Bostwick, after the tribunal?

But why should Bostwick have so much loyalty to the Fleet? OK so he had an excellent season with us but each player has their own reasons for leaving to other clubs and that should be respected. It's his career. I was quite shocked at the abuse he was getting from the people around me yesterday. He did so much for us last season. Players move about all the time, it's unfair he is getting so much stick for it.

Some people need to move into the real world, where you have jobs & other people to support through your employment. Bossy was a player, not s supporter. Playing for the Fleet was his job. Stevenage made him a vastly improved offer financially. He has a wife/girlfriend & a little girl to support. So what would you do if it was your family & your job at stake?

Got guts ache and missed the game.

That may have been the official line but I was talking to a Boro fan at about 13:00 who just got a phone call from his girlfriend in a gym at Stevenage where she saw three players, one of them was the number 23, check the programme and that was Jukeboxes number.

Why do they call him Jukebox, again?

I wouldn't give a player any personal abuse, but give them some stick out of good humour. At the Stevenage game, we were singing to Bostwick, and by the look on his face wen he looked at the Plough End, he found it funny. Not sure where the actual abuse came from if there was any.

Quite agree with Hannah. As a professional footballer, it's Bostwicks job. When it's paying your wages, there's no room for sentimentality. Otherwise you wouldn't score against your old club/s, or you'd accidently fumble that save. Personally, I think he made a mistake by leaving, but no one was to know that Stevenage would be second from bottom five games into the season. Added to which, rumour, and I do emphasise rumour has it Westley pulls Bostwicks strings. No one knows how or why, but thats what I heard last Saturday.

Although he isn't very popular, Westley has a vast knowledge of non-league football, and has many contacts within the game. Stevenage know he has the ability and pulling power to bring in new players. At least to keep them up, if they can't get promotion. He's not a stupid man, he'd walk before he was pushed.
