Spot on Gossey Rooney is over rated living on the hype from his earlier days but seriously we are finding it hard to have regular strikers we have Rooney ( Over rated), Owen ( Past it for England), Heskey ( Dont even go there ). I think it will be very interesting to see how crouch and defoe will do for portsmouth as if they score goals and play well then they should be englands front 2 and the main 4 we should have atm is Ashton, Agbohnlahor,Crouch,Defoe as I think these 4 deserve a run in the england starting 11

Ashton is good but he's injury prone and he plays for the scum. This will not do.

 

Crouch is the sort of player whos good to bring on later on in a game.

Exactly. Matthew Upson and Rob Green deserve a chance. Agbonlahor and Ashley Young have been superb for Aston Villa and should get a chance.

We have plenty of players who would love to have the opportunity of putting a England shirt on and doing their bit. Half the players we have are living on the memories and the reputations they had several years ago.

Rooney is pure quality. I can lend anyone last season's DVD.

He may lack goals, but his team play is superb.

He doesn't hide when the going gets tough.

He would be in my team anyday. If Colin had the money he'd buy him.

As for Wes Brown. Didn't he score the other night?

Considering he's not 1st choice at Man U and even when he was unsettled last season.

He put a RED shirt on and didn't let anyone down and got 2 medals to show for it.

It's easy to slag players off, but if they do their best that's all you can ask.

I agree that agbonlahor should be given a chance. He's in my fantasy football team. I thought that's why we had friendlies, to try new blood.

To be honest, The sooner people see that Rooney is just over rated for club and country the better. We've got enough team players in the midfield. Rooneys job as a striker is to put the ball in the net and i can't remember the last time he done that for country.

 

I don't pay attention to the premier league so I can't really say there. There are people who deserve a place for England more than him IMO

exactly his form for england recently is shocking everyone tries to perform for their clubs especially the big 4 because they get a massive cheque at the end of the week and when it comes to their country they dont give a toss look at when we didnt qualify for the euros the next day the players went on a massive bender and the passion is not their and lets be honest how many times do you hear the likes of torres, berbatov and the majority of foriegn players on a bender hardly none and they have passion for their nations and know the national anthem ours wouldnt even know a second verse let alone the whole anthem I think it is a disgrace and when I was younger I always wanted to go to watch England well not no more and its about time we stopped picking people on reputation and pick players on their form
