Burnham were 5-0 up after a 0-0 draw at the weekend with the same team?! I bet Daventry wished that happened in the 1st game and they wouldnt have had to make the trip!

Some pretty strange results last night.

PS Is Martin Ash still working wonders? Maybe he turned up to coach Daventry during the last 20mins of the Burnham game and got em to sweat blood and bag 3 goals?

I went to watch Southend Manor last night and it was such a one sided game. Hullbridge were poor. Manor played the ball around well and im not just saying it cos he is my mate but JJ was head and shoulders the Man of the match. A goal, winning tackles he had absolutely no right to , and lots of energy getting all over the pitch.

Comment of the night , Talk is Cheap " JJ is Jimmy White , soon to be Willie Thorne"

Last night was my first return to Gardiners Close since the final game of last season. The ground certainly has been improved and the best I've seen it, possibly ever!!!

Romford, having beaten Biggleswade Town only 48 hours earlier, understandably fielded a much changed side (Notice I didn't say weakened), but they still started the brighter, with Basildon sitting deep and looking to counter attack on the break. Craig Gilham (or is it Gillam) wasted a couple of good opportunities before Robinson gave Basildon the lead. Gilham, not to be outdone, added a second just before half time.

The second half was pretty uneventful and there were no further goals. Though Basildon had the better chances.

Romford will no doubt point to the fact they played pretty much a "squad" team and Basildon will say you can only beat what's in front of you. The fact is, the Group B table says Basildon Utd are top and Romford are bottom.

Romford will probably feel that it is a Group that they should comfortably qualify from (With respect to Clapton and Takeley) and last night's result was a by-product of Sunday's FA Cup win.

Basildon looked solid enough but will rely an awful lot on Gilham's goals, which is something they will need to address given his imminent suspension. Something I'm sure BBB & Garymo are well aware of and will be addressing.

Bottom line, two played, two wins, no goals conceded. So far so good for them.

No mate, it was a one off out of sheer curiosity to see how much the ground had changed, as that's all we've heard about during the summer. Also, it was the only local game last night. From now on, my free Saturdays and evenings will be spent watching Bowers.

How's life at GWR?

Smallsy, do one ya snotgobbler!!!

That Chunky so and so called me a "Son ovva B1tch" last night. It was comical in his french sounding accent.

Is he really Italian or does he put that on?
