Although second-half we were and that is all i want to think about really.

Young lads were superb in their 2nd half fightback, also praise must go to Barry for the subs at half time, Young and Smith looking very solid at the back. As for Wilson and Stubbs I believe their partnership will get stronger and stronger and Wayne was very unlucky with a free kick that fizzed over the bar and did look to have won a penalty late on but maybe made a bit much of the dive?

I must admit the first half looked like men against the boys so it was even more pleasing that they didn't buckle at all and in the end probably deserved the draw.

A very very good 2nd half from us , my only concern is that we still need a good marksman upfront with experience , Kenny Pratt looked good when he came on towards the end but he has not got enough games under his belt yet but over all very impressed they just need to do what Cookie has stated though and string to good halfs together but early days you can`t judge the season on 2 games . WELL DONE BOYS . Up the Gate.

He might get another chance on Saturday as Ryan limped off with what he told me is a hamstring. Just depends in how it reacts today I guess? Thought Kenny did ever so well and he is a lad with Margate FC pumping through his entire body so pleased he took really well to his League debut albeit about 12/15 mins.

Yes the players were poor in the first half but not as poor as the fans.

To say I was p1ssed off with the fans attitude is an understatement. Yes they were having a nightmare but that is where they need encouraging not slating off.

As for the clown in our ranks who was calling for Ashbeys head during the first half, I can accept constructive criticism but if that is his normal feelings at a match I think we are better off without that "fan". If he does it again at the Canvey game there will be a slanging match on the terraces

Don't know of this person you are talking off Frankie but lets be honest here after that first half many were muttering to themselves & to others that we were poor & looking like relegation candidates. It certainly wasn't good was it.Someone said that people were paying to get out of the ground, jokingly of course.Just as well no-one took that option because they would have been kicking themselves for missing out in the second half.

To be fair again after that second half showing those very same people were giving praise for a good solid performance & come-back.

It does work both ways & thats what happens in football I'm afraid.Swings & roundabouts. People are, like on the forum, entitled to their views provided they don't attack the players out loudly & if thats what was being done then I DO agree with you its out of order.

As far as BA is concerned we should ALL be thanking him for actually getting us a team out there that is not only young & inexperienced at this level but strangers to each other & all this on a nigh on zero budget.

Exactly Tony, he has done a sterling job IMO. I heard a chap berating the team rather loudly calling them every swear word you can think off, so I politely asked him to tone his language down in front of children who were close by. Seemed to work too.

I know it was quiet in the first half, but to go 0-1 down seconds after kick-off isn't exactly the start you want to a new campaign is it?

Heads did go down, and it affected morale - there wasn't anything to cheer about was there? I felt there wasn't too much leadership on the pitch - perhaps that's an area where Paul Smith or Pat Sappleton might help(do we have an ETA on either of those?).

The bold substitutions at half time surprised many, it showed that the Management had a bit of fight, which in turn inspired the players ... the rest, as they say, is history.

Not saying we should cheer and celebrate going behind but we should not turn on the players but try and boost them up.

The person concerned is probably a Man Utd supporter at the moment but as soon as they struggle will switch to the team at the top of the Premiership i.e. not a true football supporter

If Stubbs last minute diving header had gone in-he would have had the freedom of Margate bestowed upon him and would have been enjoying free drinks on that for the next 12 months.

How close actually was it ?

Great cross for it from Pratt.

So how close is that ?

I just think its pleasing that most came away with a positive vibe lat night, and that i trust will be carried over to saturday -both to the players and management and through the turnstiles.

Last season, it seemed when ever we had the opportunity to have a good home attendance, the team and manager would do poorly in the preceding game and thus the attendance fell.

Hopefully, this satuday will see an increase in what i thought was a pretty good attendance last night -can we get over 500 there.

Imagine the feelings for spectators and players alike if we can win aswell.

Up the 'Gate.
