Got run ragged and pitiful first half but second half a completely different story. We "blitzed" them second period.I joke not.Should have got a cert penalty in last minutes & another chance immediately after that was very very close.Unlucky not to have got all 3 points in the end. Magnificent fight back from the youngsters. The kids did us proud second half. Now if we can string two halves like that together we might even win the league l.o.l..Good attendance of 474 too.

Its quite amazing really, at half time I was starting to think Relegation was a possibility but in the end I left the ground wondering how we didn't win tonight! Clear penalty right at the end and a fantastic cross from Pratt found the head of Dan Stubbs and how he didn't score I don't know. Delighted with the point though.

Hendon loked a very good side first half-benefit of being together last season with just a couple of summer additions.

Frankly-we could have been 4-0 down.

 

They were still good in second half and threatened quite often, but Margate improved substantially and as others say could have snatched al 3 points.

 

Brave decisions from BA:

subs Coleman and taylor at half time who were having average games.

 

No mean result by these guys tonight as Hendon were a substantially better side than Carlshalton.

 

Our midfield was non existent first half which is why we were overun-but credit to them they hauled temselves back into it, and again Wilson and Stubbs in particular had excellent second halfs.

What we all know at heart is the team needs time( as do the management). We all know what we saw out there tonight is not the finished item by a long chalk. Some will not be here long, others will come in and others will progress through the ranks. What we all need to do is get behind the them, not jeer them when they make mistakes but, encourage them. By encouraging we help build confidence, I know when things don't go well people, me included become frustrated. but it is negative and negativity is a bad Allie, it is destructive.

Young Aaron game on second 1/2, he was nervous but with a little success and encouragement he grew in stature before our eyes. Well done the lads.

If we play like what we did in the first half we will get relegated no ifs or buts about it, but in the second half we woke up and really took the game to Hendon. When we pulled one back we certainly had them on the ropes and was inevitable we were going to equaliser and what fantastic scenes they were when we equalised. I don't think i have seen Margate players celebrate a goal like that for years, shows how passionate these lads are.

 

I think the result was a very good result considering we were 2-0 down at half time and lets face it these players are not that experienced yet and to bring it back how they did do a useful looking Hendon side was very encouraging. We were unlucky not to have scored right at the end. There is a lot of work to be done, but i still think we will be fine this season.

 

Also 472 wasn't a bad attendance was it Sanderson???

You wouldn't though would you? Remember we are not as good as we used to be, we are playing an awful league and not many people like the fact we are going backwards in order to go forwards. Stop being so negative and bitter about the club, it's getting far to silly now if i am honest.


I'm looking forward to Saturday's game against Canvey and i believe we can take 3 points of those especially if we play 90 minutes of decent football and not just 45 minutes.

Very well done lads. You had me going, there, for a while. Nearly crying in my beer, infact. After one minute I thought Noooo. At half time I thought "we're doomed, we're doomed".

Then came the second half and we looked a different outfit. Fully charged and raring to go. The free kick from Wilson, layed off by Peters, looked like a thunderbolt but just sailed over the bar instead of ripping the back of the net out.

Then I was practically on my knees praying "come on lads you can do it" and in it popped from a Wilson shot that seemed to loop up in the air and into the back of the net. "Yes, Yes, now come on lads, you can do it I know you can. Please Lord let them do it, please". Then came a bit of ping pong football in the Hendon box and The ball was in the net. I couldn't see who had scored it, and couldn't care, just that the ball was in the back of the net. "YES, YES".

Well done to all. Exciting football and that's all I can ask for win or loose. Mind you I do prefer the former.
