Correct UM.In fact the more that travel together the better as you can actually get 4 for the price of two also = Group-save 4. That works out at 50% off then.
Just ask when you buy your tickets.You must all stay together both journeys though.Thats the only stipulation with these tickets.I expect that will apply in all your cases anyway.
p.s You don't need a travelcard unless you want to use all London transport & anyway you cant get a travelcard from where you get on, to Margate(just to London).
If you are coming straight here & going straight back(not necesarily meaning literally straight back),via London a cheap day return ticket is what you need with the added group save 3 or 4).This ticket will automatically include the underground both ways.
