Yer that was a bit naughty SL he should not have said that, another good result for the Green well done,we went down 3 1 to Hartley good luck to them in the next round, the game itself was all about us we probably had more possession than Hartley especially 2nd half but they had a great 15 minute spell in the 1st half and killed us of clinically with 3 well taken goals,we rallied in the 2nd half but had a mountain to climb great attitude from the players and a good goal from Brunty, as I have said before we are a new young side and we will learn from these sort of games

Cheers Duncs. I at least thought he would comment on our keeper who made an amazing penalty save and then scooped one off the line which was an even better save. We also missed a couple of one on ones. Just thought our boys kept our shape and did not let them play.

 

Hartley away to Gosport in the next round. I played Gosport and they are a very good side so will be a tough one. Winner of Epsom and Frimley will then probably get Burgess hill.

We played really poorly down at Mile Oak, lacked passion, drive and commitment. Credit to Mile Oak they played simple football very well and deserved to win.

Aint it great when a manager cannot admit that his team were beaten because they were poor. Less make no bones about it, Frimley didnt even get into top gear on Saturday. Yes we rode our luck, but Watto had a fantastic game in the sticks and won it for us. What other may not know is that we hit the post and forced their goalkeeper into a number of good saves too and we could have killed the game of had our striker decided to pull the trigger rather than try and walk the ball into the net when it was open.

 

Anyway, on to E & E and looking forward to it.

Saw the Frimley Green v Guildford game and thought both sides played well. The first half was all Frimley, kicking down the hill with the wind behind them, but Guildford defended well and at half time it was 0-0. Frimley scored from a free kick in the second half and guildford changed their system to three at the back and attacked the Frimley defence. The Frimley goalkeeper made at least 5 (including a penalty save)fantastic saves that kept Frimleys lead intact. To me the game was spoilt by the silly antics (handbags at two paces) of members from Frimley and Guildford management teams. Good luck to Frimley in the next round and good luck to Guildford for the rest of the season.

I agree with your match analysis SRB. I went in at half time extremly confident after the first half performance. I think scoring so early in the second half in a very tense game affected us and we then held on to get the win. The goalkeepers saves, especially the one he scooped off the line were world class. As for the silly antics on the sideline, I was the one involved and was shocked when a bit of banter back and forth turned into the physio trying to headbutt me in front of the crowd. My exact words were "You missed try again". That is when he decided to attempt to punch me. I enjoy the banter but that was just ridiculous. I did walk up to him straight at the final whistle and shook his hand.
