Epsom & Ewell progressed into the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup sponsored by E.On with a 4-2 win at Eastbourne United Association. Epsom & Ewell started with the same side as at Guildford City on Wednesday night, the E's managing to go a goal up on 6 minutes when Chad Heuston arriving on the back post headed the ball home from no more than 8 yards out off a corner. Eastbourne United equalised on 8 minutes from the penalty spot when RATTLED07 was adjudged to have brought down a home player who was already on his way down when tackled by RATTLED07, Paul Borg managing to get glove to ball as he dived left but the ball had enough momentum to trickle on to the post and roll over the goal line. Epsom & Ewell were back in front on 13 minutes, another Epsom corner found RATTLED07 making amends for the penalty by being on the edge of the six yard box to execute a powerful downward header that spun past Eastbourne United keeper James Firman.
