Hartley 3-1 Cove

Cove conceeded all 3 goals in the space of 15 crazy minutes and found the task of getting back level too much. Before the crazyness, Cove hit the woodwork AGAIN (5th time in 2 games)and the goalie made 2 superb saves. HW 1st goal was a mix up between our goalie and centre back finally seeing them both collide, allowing the HW player to score in an open net.

Minutes later poor marking from a cross made it 2 and then minutes after that a free kick was delivered into the box with the HW centre back having a free header to loop it over our keeper. Apart from the goals it was pretty even possesion wise 1st half.

2nd half was totally dominated by Cove but couldnt manage to get passed a stubborn defence. Hopefully it was a wake up call for all the youngsters in our team. You can carry 1 or 2 players but you cant carry 6 or 7.

Lessons to be learnt and will be put right this week at training.

Good luck to Hartley in the next round.

'DorkingNews' Report:-

"Dorking produced a strong display at Meadowbank on Saturday to overcome Chessington & Hook in the extra preliminary round of the FA Cup and proceed into the next round.

After the disappointment of the opening two games of the season, where Chicks have dominated possession and chances against each of Frimley Green and Westfield, things came together on Saturday against higher league opposition to produce a deserved win for Tony Webb

Not absolutely sure of the permanancy of Michaels position. I understand he is/was another teams 2nd keeper. Frimley Green springs to mind, but I can't be sure.

I thought he played very well !

Chertsey 2 Deal Town 2

Chertsey were much better side, passed the ball well against an extremely strong and agressive Deal side. Chertsey started well, hitting woodwork twice in first 10 minutes. Deal then scored against run of play, dubious decision by the ref to let the game go on as the Chertsey defender was pulled back by the Deal striker on the half way line. Striker run through and scored much to the appeals from Chertsey.

Chertsey then continued to control the game and were being kicked all over the place by Deal. John Pomroy missed chance after chance, but made a mence from a good corner move as he finished well. The 2nd half started brighter and Chertsey were leading within 3 mins of the interval. paul brooker picked the ball up on the half way line, played a one 2 before going passed 2 Deal defenders. He made it to the byline and stood the ball up, where John Pomroy was waiting to head in for his 2nd. Chertsey then had a strong 20 minuted spell but couldn't score the 3rd. But with 20 mins to go, they stop playing and it looked as if Deal would steal a goal. A mistake from John Hamsher in the box, gifted Deal the equaliser and then I believe Chertsey will struggle to Beat them on Tuesday. Chertsey looked battered at the end of the game and look to be carrying a lot of injuries, is this the way to beat them?

Have to agree with Cobham No1 with regards to their game, as they were ultimately robbed of a win by the official.

Quite where he managed to get the 8-9 mins of injury time was beyond eveyone. Told his assistants there would be 4 min and then said he only played 5 mins despite all other watches in the ground showing otherwise.

The fact he had his whistle to his lips for the 15-20 secs in the build up to the equaliser without blowing it further infuriated the home side as it certainly made it look like he was waiting for an equaliser to be scored!!

Cobham deserved the win overall and although they did have some chances to wrap the game up will still feel let down by the man in the middle!

Wembley 1 Royston 1

Royston have a very good side who play good football and should have won if i'm honest we were nowhere near our best and only played for the first 20 mins of the second half and in those 20 mins we scored. So the only positives are were still in it and i don't think Royston can play any better (god help us if they can) and we can only get better.
