Slough Town 2-2 Burnham

Fair result yes, thought Burnham were the better side overall though. They also hit the post twice.

I was encouraged by how Slough started the game but Burnham came back into it strongly and in the end I think we have to be happy with a point. Disappointing to concede in the last five minutes though.

I'd actually disagree with you there Matt, I thought we were the better side, and played the better football but Burnham had more chances than us. Agree fair result though.

Some very pleasing things after what must have been a difficult week with the Beames and Pierson situations. Thought in the final third we played some really good football and looked dangerous going forward. The partnership of Platt and Jordan if they stay fit will only get better as the season progresses.

Defence was a little shakey, but Daly's hardly played pre-season and Fenton's not really played with Daly. Also a mention to Adam Dickens who had a decent game and looks far more comfortable in centre midfield. Still think we need a right-sided player though as Roberts himself is naturally a central midfielder.

Overall, quite happy with that. Shame we could not hold on and a little suprised we maybe did not put Rids or Laurence Brown would have been ideal had he not been on holiday to win the second-ball and sit in front of the back 4 when we were leading 2-1.

I believe he will be signing for Brackley within the next few days once the seven day approach expires. They have made him a very good offer which we can't get anywhere near matching and it is a step up for him. Shame we never got to get him in a competetive match again.

A good start to the season. I'm with Chris, I thought we might have deserved the win, even though Burnham dominated for the last 15 mins. Might have been worth giving Roy a run out as the strikers looked a little tired, having chased everything down all day.

Dicko/Dickens/whatever it is he's called this week had a cracker, making a right nuisance of himself in midfield and causing burnham to panic, mis-hit passes and ultimately lose possession to us, just what we needed. The back four did look a little unsettled at times, but Daly had a good game when he came forward for corners and once the four have had a chance to gel together I'm sure they'll come good. Harper started well too.

Roberts looked a little overwhelmed to begin with, settled later in the game, but I agree right wing doesn't look to be his most comfortable choice. Pritchard was good in midfield again, calming down play and raising the lads' spirits towards the end of the second half and Johnny Gray nearly ran his legs right off.

Favourite moment:

Shout from crowd right before Parkin takes a goal kick: "If you'd rather be a rebel than play for Burnham, raise your arm!"

Parky remained silent, but ever so subtly ran his hand through his hair as he took the kick.

Sign him up, sign him up, sign him up.... wink

I thought it was a fair result. We had problems defending in the first half with that strong gusty wind, and Burnham made good use of that.

We looked good going forward and scored two good goals, and Burnhams 2nd was a cracker (unfortunatly for us).

It was a very fast game, and there is a very good base there to build on. Last season our heads would have gone down and we would have lost the game.

Keep on with the good job Sweets.

A draw fair result, but the pressure they put on in the last 5 mins was immense and im very impresssed we held out. (Last season we would have let in at least a couple more!). A few things i noticed...

1)Eamonn Mcgonagly ()Sp) Had a blinder.

2) Parky was very unlucky to let in the first. he'd mad 3 saves ina row before the ball was slotted home.

3) Roberts looked lost on the wing (Maybe better diown the middle?)

4) Steve dDaly looked as solid as always.

5) I still maintain it WAS a penalty, as there was definitely contact with the man and not the ball.

6) Pritch,Gray, The Strikers, and Harper also looked solid.

7) Why did we not bring a sub on in the last 15...... both opur strikers were looking knackered/injured.... we had 2 strikers on the bench why not use them?

8) What is Mudge's malfunction? When theyequlaised he spun round arms waving at us like an fat epileptic in a disco.... I dont believe we had said one thing about him all match?!!? Fat twat.

9) The amount of support Burnham bought was truly embarrasing..... i didnt see one burnham shirt all game, it truly was pathetic.

Yeah, Ryan Bird is a very good centre back. I'd like to see him here to, but doubt it somehow. Interesting to see Ben Hurdell Burnham's best player yesterday hanging around with a Slough Town friend? Could have pointed him in our direction pre-season instead of Burnham!!

I thought it was a fair result, because both teams had very good chances to score more goals. A decent all round performance but the defending was a bit shaky at times, but the attacking was very good with players spotting runs and making some very accurate balls. We seemed to lose it a bit at the end and we should definately have made a sub or two near the end.

You have to feel sorry for Dave Mudge though, with no fans to celebrate with so he has to resort to insulting us behind the goal (without any provocation for once!) instead.
