The Club hope to confirm a few more contracted players over the next few days. More than 15 players have also been signed on a non-contract basis.

Morris? Slightly surprising given that he has only played three halves with the first team in pre-season (second half v Deal, Great Wakering and Cray).

and we do actually need those few more players-as mentioned-Corbishley and Young conspicuous by their abscence !!

 

Realistically-Paul Smith is not going to play.

 

In particular-who is going to play alongside Louis Smith in central defence ?

 

I read that the 'early' younger players signings-have now been declared as non contract so i guess they are registered to play in the Ryman, but are free to go to any club they want-thus if they show potential MFC could easily lose them

 

I trust another update on friday before the season starts.

I see Taylor isn't amongst that bunch but maybe he's in amongst those other non-contract players mentioned. Smith,Young & Taylor look decent prospects,in whatever permutation,& are i.m.o. a "must" for inclusion in order for us to have any chance of success this season(budget restraints taken into account).Most definately to help us survive,at least, should that seem a possibility.

We seem ok in midfield:

 

Wilson,

Stubbs,

Morris,

Hickman,

Smith,

and then Gregory-who can play in midfield,Quain,Peters,Coleman and i read that Parkinson can also play in midfield.

 

In fact-when you look at it-there are only 3 players who don't or can't play in midfield :

SCS,Louis Smith and Power !!

Mullins has done well in friendlies whereas Bowles seems to have been frozen out.I personally feel Mullins is the better option for back up keeper but is he willing to play second fiddle?

Well 11 of them are showing on list so far, being Krunic, Harker, Heath, Parrish, Robinson??, Axon, McAree, Payne, Cliff, Lewis and Vanshinsberg.

 

So must be 4 more somewhere unless Kenny Pratt is one too?

Would like to hear that kenny pratt has been contracted-frankly- i reckon he should play alongside power on saturday.

 

Wheatley would be another positive signing imo
