Our rivalry with Canvey not as hostile as it used to be, our fans can have friendly banter now, and im sure that the players might feel the same <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> i mean...benno, wilko, louie, budgie etc..do not even feel the rivalry as they were not with us at the time.

I actually feel sorry for canvey, come on i couldn't stand being runners up 3 years in a row.

But lets go and rub their noses in it anyway!!

Didnt Cheltenham finish 2nd three times in a row in the Dr Martens Premier before getting into the Conference etc .

No need to feel sorry , maybe they're building a strong foundation !!

Oh God not after the last one! Everyone was expecting 4000 to turn up but it was barely 400!!

 

If the Clubs think they can make money out of it, they better think again!! It will just be a repeat of last season.

The game went well for you until the second half, oh and Miller really was a dirty b*stard even for a friendly, he put poor skins our for a few months! It was nice to get Miller for his 1-0 showing to all the Fleet fans at the end of the league game at stonebridge road.

That's why we got rid of him, just two games into this one two games and he's already been sent off!! He shaved his head for the new season too. Stimmo wannabe! What a swap though, him for Jeff Minton!!!

I would have thought that its the perfect pre-season match for both teams.

Not too much travelling.

Both clubs can turn out some good players.

Since we won't meet in the league this year neither side will gain any advantage from the match.

I should think both sides will be experimenting with trialists, reserves etc. so I doubt very much if either manager will be too bothered about the result.

Unfortunately it won't be a money spinner but then very few pre-season matches are.

 

It really is time we put all the anti Canvey crap behind us....or at least put it in storage until they get promoted.
