08/09 hopes and predictions

I think that the team who gets the most points are likely to win the league.

But take a look at the Fourth Division (aka League 2) - Luton on minus 30, Rotherham on minus 17, Bournemouth on minus 17.

Makes it a bit easier for some of the weaker clubs to stay up - whatever the rights on wrongs, it's total farce.

my hopes and aspirations for the new season....?

less bickering and drinking and more supporting and singing...its time we were all one again and got behind our football team for 90 minutes each game and made more friends and encouraged new fans.....yay

biglaugh cheeseburger

As for the Gate, psf's show how difficult playing against 'lesser oppo' can be! shocked

I like your aspirations. Roll on the footy season. The silly season is far too long! smile

Thats alright for you to say , but I put my season ticket sticker on one of the seats on Hasbeen Hill, and the old legs are having trouble getting to and fro at half time...........Just ban Rob............

Agree with most that we over achieved last season. As everyone knows this year our wage bill has been halved and consequently we have a small squad, I think about 18. All we need are some injuries, like we have now and suspensions and we will really will be struggling. Look at Sutton, their star striker is out for the season and they go and get two in as replacements from the conference.

I don't think we will finish much higher than mid table, anything more would be a bigger achievement than last seaon

Agree with all your points VFTC, you can guarantee that the likes of Sutton, Tonbridge, Billericay, Dover, Dartford, Maidstone etc aren't on less money than last season. Whatever the outcome we really are punching above our weight.

On a more cheerful note the 1st eleven does look stronger than this time last year, Everitt better than Glozier, Barnard better than Bostock, Curley, Styles or Boetang better than Cross and Lee, Hodges better than Keith
