08/09 hopes and predictions

With the start of the season nearly upon us.

And me being bored at work, I was wondering how we'd fair this season.

I am hoping we get promoted but think Dover will win the title. And

i'd love a good run in the FA Cup (who doesn't)

Hopefully attendances will be up this year as I'm aware quite alot of West Ham ST holders, like myself haven't renewed.

No pressure Colin grin

Thoughts anyone???

dont know wot dover are like but word is there havin money thrown at them so must be in with a shout only have to look at chelmo and the wombles to see that, must be lookin for the play offs, looks like the strongest squad i've seen in 3 seasons but we all know wot an unpredictable division this is, gates 500+ to start with and a few more of our fans on there travels and a good f.a cup run so diz i agree with u mate

the ryman prem as has been mentioned elsewhere previously is a very tight league, indeed looking at wimbledon's start against newport, there's not alot of difference between us and the connie south.

i think we massively over-achieved last season, but still could have sneaked up. i'm glad we didn't as i think after the rollercoaster ride of the last few years, spending 2 seasons in the same division will only benefit us. if we can get on a good money spinning cup run, but not to the point where our league position suffers (see horsham & staines last season), then i think we can aim for a play off spot with some optimism.

so, as stated earlier - great season would be good cup run and play-offs. but mid-table would suit me fine as well.

dover and dartford i've heard lots about, as well as carshalton. canvey island have to fancy themselves to finish in the play-offs or thereabouts. it is the duty of every urchin to ensure that canvey do not finish above us or take any points from us. the bragging rights must be ours...

final prediction - riot.

the first three games will tell us much about the whole season...

ramsgate away...always the spoilers and always thereabouts with jimbo at the helm....physical and edgy and hard to beat...

carshalton home....talk about money and budgets and talk about them...big money spent and they are gonna be good early on with good pitches to enjoy...

dover home....not so sure....lots of players and a few quid but nowt like is being said...we'll have to see with that one....

anyway once those three are out of the way we can then start to assess the situation as to where we shall be and what we can realistically expect....

ones to watch...

sutton...major bucks being spent..

canvey...batch has them playing well and a couple of good signings as icing on the cake and yes TB we need to take 6 off of them...

ricay....quietly going about their business and will be up there ...more bragging rights needed here...

angels...loadsadosh and fancy it for fun...

maidstone....loads of new players that may just gell....

dartford....dark horses but I fancy will falter after xmas...

margate..cannon fodder...evil

Hx...stronger than last season and I fancy a play off and a bit of silverware if we stay clear of injuries...

my hopes and aspirations for the new season....?

less bickering and drinking and more supporting and singing...its time we were all one again and got behind our football team for 90 minutes each game and made more friends and encouraged new fans.....yay

Hornchurch to get promoted.

Win a cup and have a good F.A. Cup run.

Orient to get promoted. Spurs at home in 3rd round of FA Cup.

Win at Ipswich on Tuesday night will do for a start.

Southend, Brighton and Millwall all to get relegated.

I'd be happy with a mid table finish but think we're capable off sneaking a top 8 finish.
