Hi all

 

I am new to the forums and just have to mention the game of Royston against Broxbourne.

 

Firstly, congrats to the blues on a great performance and commiseration's to the crows. I attended the game and admit that the score line could have been far worse for Roystons men. Broxbourne were a yard ahead of every ball played and outshone in the passing game. It turned out to be the worst performance I have seen from royston in two years watching them.

Scottie DTFC - What stood out for me last night was the attendances, 70 is huge for Brimsdown Rovers and do AFC Dunstable normally get such good crowds, you only had 77 last week against Biggleswade United:

AFC's average last season was about 50, but they were playing at Dunstable Town Cricket Club, which is next door to Tottenhoe's ground, so effectively, out in the sticks.

 

Now they have stepped up a level and playing in the town, I would expect their crowds in increase slightly.

 

Plus there are quite a "few floaters", who will watch Dunstable Town, AFC Dunstable, Barton Rovers, Leighton Town etc etc and because of the joint tenancy and AFCD playing mid-weeks on Wednesday's it's an extra game for them.

NeutralFan - It's amazing to think that it's almost three years ago to the day since that legendary 2-2 draw at Goldsdown Road between Kentish Town and Brimsdown Rovers, the season Brimsdown were promoted from Division 1, the game was exactly like a chess match between Bobby Fischer and Boris Spassky.
