Zezi - Yes I heard that Sport London e Benfica were very poor today against the ten men of Tokyngton and were arguing amongst themselves which is a tell tell sign of unrest in the camp, Special1 must be a worried man and seems reluctant to come on to explain the reasons for their horrendus season.

It certainly was a good game but a slighly biased press report failed to mention the 4 or 5 chances (absolute sitters) Bradwell had to score as they dominated the last 20-25 minutes of both halves. Hatfield are a strong side, well Managed and organised with a promising future if they get somewhere to play!

With Leamington's match being called off after -7 overnight temperatures I had a positive response to my phone call to Kent Athletic. So a quick dash down the M1 saw me arriving half an hour before kick-off and the referee giving the thumbs up for the game to start.
To be honest it was a bit hard on one side of the pitch but the rest of the ground was bathed in sunshine and perfectly playable(just!!)
Kent Athletic play at the Kent Social Club. Tenby Drive, Luton. A fairly basic venue with a railed off pitch with a very small amount of cover attached to the clubhouse. Being surrounded by houses gives the ground an enclosed feel about it.
As for the game, the first half hour was pretty poor with both teams struggling to adapt to the conditions but on the half hour Bletchley scored from a penalty and then proceeded to miss a couple of good chances before half-time.
Kent improved in the second half and soon equalized. Despite chances for both teams no further goals were scored and a draw was a fair result.

Attendance was 29(h/c). No admission was charged and no programme but a welcome cup of tea was available for 30p at half-time.

Royston do arguably their longest trip of the season to Winslow Utd and the game gets called off by the match referee after 2pm on his arrival. The game never had a chance of being played and a pitch inspection at an appropriate time would have saved everyone a lot of hassle. Very poor organisation on Winslow's part !!

the pitch was indeed very playable as the winslow players trained on the whole pitch for 2 hours after the ref decided to call it off much 2 the delight of royston towns manager!!! the linesman who arrived before the ref said if he was ref the game would be played as the pitch was fine but this was not what the royston town manager wanted to hear and proceeded to approach the ref and tried and succeeded to get the game called off. i also hear that craig hammond was unavailable for royston so i must say it was very convienet that the royston management wanted the game called off! also the ref said the pitch was able to start and wouldve been alright for the first hour but after that he doesnt know what would happen! i didnt realise refs trained as weathermen aswell! i almost asked him for the lottery numbers!!! surely if u can start u have 2! winslow really wanted this game played even more so due to the fact royston didnt want 2 play!

I must say ive played on more dangerous pitches in my time and also in the summer the pitches we play on are much more dangerous!

More feedback on yesterday's game at Biggleswade Town from another's Forum, I'll be interested to get Wader's view on the highlighted points although he appears to have gone to ground:

Yam Yam reunion with Modelhobbies at Biggleswade Town, which made the day enjoyable. First half poor, second half much more fun. Fair result. The ground is very smart and shiny, with lots of seats and the club should feel very proud of it. I'm sure it will get the grading for promotion, should that come along. It's certainly 'better' than a few at Step 4. However, if all the grounds I visited were like this I don't think I would bother very often - at the moment it feels soulless, but as Modelhobbies said to me during the game, in twenty years' time it will probably look much more interesting. Give me a tatty old ground like Chorley or Gravesend & Northfleet every time, rather than Nantwich, Stratford, etc. I hope this doesn't offend the Biggleswade contingent - I'm expressing a personal preference, not trying to put people off.

Programme - pretty poor. I didn't buy a badge. Cold, but not as bad as the previous Saturday. Very pleased to find a game and a new ground on a bad weather day.
