The game was played at Tring Athletic last night which I assume is where Kings Langley are groundsharing this season, every Club in Division 1 have lights as it's a League stipulation.

Hi Guys,

 

Been very busy lately but as it was a bit of a FF SSML get together last night at the Hadley v Wodson games I thought I'd make the time.

 

In attendence were Rhodes, syd_lexic and Football Man to witness Wodson edge a competitive affair with a very well taken winner in the 71st winner

 

Probably wasn't a great game to watch from a purist point of view but some good stuff played in patches on a good surface, although some of shorter players had grass up to their knees!

 

I'll leave it to the ones not playing to describe in more detail!

True it wasn't a classic, but Wodson clearly had the edge last night. Hadley had 1 or 2 good'uns but seemed more intent on having the upper hand on the verbals than winning the game ! NF played well at the back & on the whole Wodson are a well organised unit. I'll be shocked if they're not in the top 2 come May !

It would be good to get Football Man's 'expert' view on the game. What struck me was nothing to do with the game itself but how much money Potters Bar Town were taking behind the bar afterwards, they couldn't take it fast enough right up until about 10.30 and they must be rubbing their hands with the groundshare arrangement with Hadley.

Yes I noticed you managed to beat FM's score in Tetris Spidermanor, I thought his score was good but you went and doubled it!! Impressive stuff.

 

I was indeed at the Luton vs Plymouth match Rhodes, I had almost forgot what it was like to win a match! Good performance and a good result, we are going to need a hell of a lot more of them this season.

Since Tring Ath. were @ home in the cup yesterday, can I assume that Kings Langley are still playing 'daytime' games @ Gaywood Pk but are 'sharing' @ Pendley for any midweek games until they get 'lit up' - whenever that may be?

 

Didn't notice mention of different venues etc on the Bulletins nor the Tring site (doesn't mean they weren't there ) - and they don't appear to have a site of their own yet.

 

Then again, they don't have another MW League game scheduled in the foreseeable future - but they DO have a Div 1 Cup game on 16th Sept vs SLeB?

 

Haven't been to Tring or KL yet - so maybe I've got twice the chances of the former :- not sure I'll target the latter anyhow - a) don't intend to do SSM1 for a yr or two yet and their ground is too close to a regular place of work in a former life (too many bad memories - ugh!)

 

PS Noticed they got a huuuuge crowd for this Div - and only bettered by the Cup games @ Tring & Cockfosters - any reason?

Sorry Rhodes I didn't understand what you were on about. I thought you were saying I'd been banned from the site. I was scratching my head as to why.

Barney Rubble - Yes that's why hardly anyone is posting on the SSML Forum these days despite it being arguably the best time of the season with the first few games and FA Cup. It's quite amazing how grown up people can behave in such a childish fashion but then, as you know, I have always had my doubts about the credibility of the likes of Wader, Horace, HTFCew, Football Man, Lato, Spidermanor, Manorborn, Special1, TheWatchfulListener and Tubbsy8 to name a few and their willingness to stand up and be counted.

I don't know too much about them or the situation. This isn't my main league, just have a few friends who play in it so I'm an onlooker.

 

Why has he asked them to boycott it?
