CubinLetch - That may be the case because Biggleswade pulled level with Langford in the world famous 'Village Olympics' during the last week, they were 5-3 down when they nicked the Donkey Derby and then drew level when they beat us 5-0 in the gurning competition on Friday night. There was controversey though, when Wader won the individual prize, even though he hadn't entered and was supposedly just a spectator. It looks like the overall title will be decided by Football on the village green on Tuesday night. We survived another run in with the boys from the 'smoke' today in a very entertaining game. I would also say, that for the second home game running the officials were superb

Trouble is, it's the worst League side that a non league side could draw. The beauty of league v non league ties is that the League side often has a sense of the unknown and turn up for the game on edge with all to lose and little to gain. However, The Posh have so many players in their ranks who came from the non league game (and not that long ago) that there aren't any surprises for them and they know exactly how to play this type of game. Of course, the cup is the cup and anything can happen on the day but this looks like an away banker to me.

Inside information there is that Wader's facial expressions were caused by a slipped disc - let that be a lesson - we'll take the win anyway we can get it! - Roll on Tuesday grin

See you there?

Mrs Keeps - So you're on the Biggleswade Town payroll now then, Wader must be grateful for any help on matchdays you are giving him.

The 'we' in the above instance refers to a supporters position as it usually does for us mere mortals doh

........as to matchdays merely the taxi driver!

hx will continue either way thank you SLH but appreciate your concerns for NL clubs....there are many that will not survive and you should donate as much as possible to them....you do do that don't you...? you don't just pontificate on here do you....?

grin

kevin...thank you for your expert opinion on the result of our forthcoming fa cup tie....you may well be right but having looked at your cv in the game you haven't actually been involved with a team that ever played an fa cup 1st round tie have you...?

so we'll pass thanx and continue to plan for a win....yay

Unc - To be fair Football Man did come quite close when he was still Secretary at Potters Bar Town two seasons ago and they reached the 4th Qualifying Round only to get beaten comfortably at Woking.

So where's Wader tonight:

Further to the above game on Saturday, I note that a post has been made on another's Forum referring to the fixture stating that he or she was 'quite impressed with the ground unlike most hoppers who have been there', that in itself is interesting as I wasn't aware the feedback had been so negative although I know the lack of tv's, locked toilet facilities and expensive refreshments from a hired outlet have been mentioned.
The poster goes on to say that 'there can't be many better grounds in the SSML', with a tongue in cheek reference to the Copthall Stadium, 'and is an easy 15 minute walk from the station or bus station, there is a largish stand and a bit of covered standing opposite. The Clubhouse is excellent and they now have several televisions with Sky Sports News for the half-time and full-time scores'. The poster then goes on to describe the game which was apparently a poor affair but it would appear that, like British Rail, Wader is getting there slowly.

Miko - We look forward to the annual maypole dancing competition this Tuesday on 'the village green'. A real top of the table derby clash! I only hope that we don't have 'Tommy' Trinder again in the middle. We ended the match with 9 men on Saturday (a most friendly match and therefore amazing that he brandished his cards throughout like a manic blackjack dealer).

Even worse, he came back to officiate the Beds FA v Suffolk County Cup match at the stadium on Sunday!

Uncs - Well done to the team for the result at Weymuff on Saturday. A great draw for the next round as well and the ol' stadium will be buzzing for sure. The Urchin fans must be so chuffed and I'm delighted for all.

Willo - don't take any notice of Uncs, he's quite rightly on a high from the weekend and has a right old grumpy side when he gets too emotional. The thought of which Icelandic Bank to invest all that gate and bar money from the Peterborough match is clearly vexing him grin

Rhodes - I will say that both Counties who attended Sunday's FA match at our humble ground were absolutely over the moon with the facilities and the attention they received.

As for your lazy sniping, well I left home at 9am on Saturday and finally got back to it at 7.15pm on Sunday (in response to you asking where I was) having mowed, lined and prepared the pitch for Saturday's league match, then afterwards cleaned the stand and tidied the pitch for Sunday's FA match, cleaned, hoovered and re-arranged the SportsBar to host a function on Saturday night working the bar myself. Stayed overnight on site after finishing at 1.30am and got up at 7am to tidy, clean and hoover again ready for Sunday's match which I tannoyed for the FA Counties and then worked the bar before tidying again and locking up before the hours journey home to write up Saturday's match report, download the match photos I took (whilst tannoying the game) and update the club website.

What exactly did you do at the weekend for any one of 'your' numerous clubs?
