I actually make this the result of the day, Langford were 2-0 down and it must have taken a lot to come back to win 4-2.

About 4 goals I reckon?

Surely a contender for result of the day with Haringey keeping the score down to 2-0:

The horse and cart got back from that London at about 3.00 AM and just in time for milking.

Strange game yesterday, Kentish Town were far the better side in the first half and went in deservedly 2-0 up. We came out in the Second Half and ran away with it, probably should have scored 6 or 7.

Big disappoinment: We did not see the Queen, but she was probably busy

MIKO - An interesting account, what do you think went wrong with Kentish Town, I understand their lynch pin Javier Rivera went off injured at half time so I can only assume that was the reason they capitulated. More importantly though what was the programme like, that's if they weren't all sold out when you got there.

Rhodes - In my opinion at the start of the Second Half Kentish Town seemed to get very narrow in midfield which exposed their full backs to our wide men, and the crosses rained in. Don't know if Rivera was the difference, although he is very good, It would be surprising if he made that much difference.

I don't take much notice of programmes to be fair (us Villagers don't read that well), but my Brother in law does, and he reports that it is about 10 pages including the cover? and about half that is advetisements, but it gave the basic info which is all we look for. The welcome at the Club was very friendly and the Burgers (for Neutral Fan's benefit) were very good

The alternative is - 84 pages of total crap!!!! every match report from the past 2 seasons (not including) the most recent game played. I heard on the grapevine that global warming has slowed down since your position was 'terminated' at KTFC

Yes but 10 pages including the cover and half of that advetisements, lol. How come Kentish Town won the Division 1 programme of the season award the season before last then beating the 'invincible' Hoddesdon Town production.

There's a report on Hertford Town going into the lions den (don't read anything into that) on another's Forum and I gather it was a classic with Oxhey racing into a three goal lead by half-time with a cricket score on the cards. Hertford Town were fielding a 'makeshift side' with only two substitutes and several debutantes however Pablo Ardiles must have what it takes as they were a different side in the second half and according to the anorak they should have won it in the end after Oxhey were reduced to ten men. It's a shame Horace and HTFCew are being so childish as it would be great to get their account.

Miko - My donkey went lame so I remained at The Carlsberg to see your boys whip our ressies in the Beds Intermediate Cup 6-2. Mark Whittaker ran the show up front for you and I had the pleasure of chatting to your Chairman for parts of the match. His tips and hints on scarecrows were quite informative.

Beds FA chappie was there as well and looking forward to the Beds FA match against Suffolk next Sunday at The Carlsberg (2pm). We pampered him with cowslip tea at half time and he was very grateful. We also promised that the horse tethers would be in place for the away team next Sunday.

Us country folk did well in the drug addled and crime ridden smoke as far as our first teams went yesterday. The raw sugar beet we give the team at half time was an inspired idea of yours. Raw brussell sprouts are just a memory for our lads now. Our kit and cleaning lady sends her undying thanks.

I'm sorry you didn't get to see the Queen. I heard she was out shopping for a state banquet and there was quite a crowd at the St James Park branch of Lidl as she browsed with her basket and the corgis. Later apparantly she was scoring some smack in Upper Bond Street so no surprise you didn't get to meet her.

I swopped smoke signals with the new Hertford Secretary the other day and I believe that 99% of the committee at Hertford if not more have all gone. Don't trust me on that though as it was a very windy day.

By the way, you of course mis-quoted my post on Kempster. 300 seats in main stand now, plus of course allocated space for wheelchairs, carts and witch burning. It's designed to enlarge to 500 at some point in the future along with a deep pool for trial by water (village ground grading reg 7a)

The farrier had sorted said problem by then. I am after all a member of the REC (Royal Equestrian Club). I pay 55 groats a year to belong and that includes home saddling and no excess for chipped or broken blinkers.

And I was off back to Lincolnshire anyway. The reeds on the roof at home were causing Mrs Wader consternation so I had to re-thatch our hovel when I got in.
