I wouldnt agree that Sport e Benfica should win Rhodesy, they were been watched by the North Greenford hierarchy a few weeks ago v Hertford so im sure the dossier is in place.

North Greenford are flying high at the top of the Combined Counties and have a new manager and have recruited heavily pre-season. There is a great pitch at North Greenford who should suit the SLB playing style, think it is probably match of the day and easy for tube users too :-)

MB and myself saw North Greenford beat Raynes Park Vale 2-1 a couple of weeks ago. They were a good outfit playing some neat football but faded a bit in the second half and the visitors might well have got a draw.

It could be a good game v SLB, Bosman is right its a good surface to play football on. NGU have made some good pre season acquisitions and Steve Ringrose (who was at the SLB v Hertford game) is an experienced manager so I guess they start favourites given home advantage but SLB have the ability to surprise.

Before you ask rhodes, no I will not be at this game tomorrow - on our tour this season we are trying to go to a different ground each week. Tomorrow we have another Vase game earmarked.

I agree with you Bosman. The pressure is off SLB. North Greenford are a Premier side. In second place at the moment. They are playing at home. We've had 2 wins all season. There wouldn't be many betting men that would back us. smile

We'll just enjoy the day out. brille008

Special1 - You say that but you're not just going to lie down and let North Greenford Unied win are you. It's your FA Vase bow and a huge day in your Club's history, if you play like you did against Hertford Town then you will be in with a shout and you'll obviously have your players primed as long as you tell them to shoot on sight and not try to walk the ball into the net.

Good luck, I may even see you there!

I can't see Rhodes' original quote on this (I'm sure it's somewhere amongst the other 14 pages of drivel he's posted), but I find it unbelievable that he would post such nonsense. What a load of bull!! I'm from London and I would never consider any club outside of London a "village" based club. I hope one of these village based clubs plays against one of the 101 clubs that Rhodes is affiliated with this season and beats them! Unreal. It's seems that Rhodes is hell bent on spreading his stupidity in every forum/thread he visits!

His "village based" comment surely HAS to be a contender for quote of the month.

Truth Teller - Nice to see you enter the fray on here however I thought we understood each other from the Middlesex County League Forum and where I have often defended you against GAFFA1. You have clearly taken my comments out of context as I wasn't categorising every SSML Premier Division Club as 'village based Club's' other than 'the London six' as that's obviously not the case. I was merely pointing out that the said six were more mentally hardened than the likes of Langford and the two Biggleswade Club's where there is little or no crime to worry about and this can arguably give them an edge in games.

WHAT???

Firstly, "thanks" for defending me against GAFFA, but I didn't need your help. The fella is incompetent and my 3 year old nephew couldn't posted more constructively than him. I don't really like the idea of people defending each other on forums. I'm not here to make everyone agree with my points of view (although you should, because I'm sometimes, always right). I'm here, like most people to express my own opinion. If agree, so fine, if you don't then fine! You weren't "defending" me when I pointed out, several times, that a player threatening to shoot his opponent was wrong. In fact, the general feeling I got from you and others was that "things get said in the heat of the moment". Yes they do, especially in the ghetto's of New York and LA, not on a football pitch in London!

Secondly, I find you village comment completely and utterly unbelievable. I can only speak from experience, but i spent my formative years at boarding school in a village, but I went onto play professional and semi professional rugby. Why don't you come and watch or even play against me and then decide whether or not I'm less mentally hardened than any city dweller. Just because a club is based in a s**thole, ghetto and just because a lot of their players maybe unemployed bum, wannabe gangsters or on day release, that doesn't make them more mentally hardened. Jesus christ!!

Kingsbury London Tigers a bit unlucky against Raunds. The vistors had the better of the first half and led deservedly at the break but KLT were much better after the interval and scored a wonderful equaliser with twenty to go. They were playing some nice football and there looked only one likely winner but were caught by a sucker punch when a slick move ended with Raunds number 9 (who was the best player on the pitch) scoring the winner with a low shot that the home keeper seemed to dive over.

excellent result for SLB, well done to them. I did say they have the ability to surprise

Yes indeed, they pass very well some teams will press too much and leave space, others will drop off and SLB will try and pick spaces. They need to take this on to Divsion 1 and climb the table as Bedford Reserves are pulling away a bit.

SLB are at home to Kings Langley on Wed night.

Bosman08 - Thanks, I knew we could rely on you. This has to be the result of the day.

Yes WGC have moved well away from the zone even though not all teams played but the visual impression of the table should set in the players minds and make them happy and spur them on to the next victory.

SLB great win at North Greenford I would possibly go for this as result of the day.

Hadley and 61FC have great wins in Div 2 while Wodson Park lose, think there are 4 teams in the hunt there, the 3 mentioned plus one other who wants to come to the table.

Thanks for the positive comments Bosman08. The Citizens played well again today, but this time got the result their play in the last two games merited and with out Harry Hunt, who signed for Hendon midweek. New boys Chris Doyle 2 and Matt Thomson got the goals, back four looked solid, two centre backs were outstanding and keeper very good. Onwards and upwards...we hope.
