I see our website is saying there are 10 coach loads of Mansfield fans coming down tomorrow at least - should be a nice few pennies through the turnstiles for us.... Any guesses as to the size of our first home crown of the season?

The mention of 10 coaches coming down has been on our website. Dont know where this has come from. There are only 2 coaches booked from the ground. I know there are are a few mini buses but there will no way be 10 coaches.To be honest i would be suprised if there is more than 400 or 500 coming down. Our fans are not thinking we are mighter than thou, its the opposite, most would be happy if we finished mid table. Its a new start for us,the last few years have been a nightmare .Althought the squad is coming together, its impossible for a team to gell in a few weeks.You have a great opportunity to win the game. Most of our fans would be happy with a draw.Im suprised its been mentioned that it will be segregated and we are not welcome in your club bar. I know Mansfield fans have had a reputaion in the past but there is no rivalry between us so it should be a good day out for both sets of fans. Enjoy the game

Don't take it personally, we segregate any match with that number of away fans. The club bar is behind the home end so there's nothing we can do about that.

Apparently that was what was communicated when arrangements were made to open the Eurostar car park.

David it wasnt a dig, just would of been nice to have mingled with your fans,have a pint and get some gossip about the teams we are likley to face, None of us know what to expect this season ,i no doubt we be made welcome .We signed Gamble yesterday a very highly rated keeper from Forest, today we signed Anthony Robinson, Herriott another keeper. Tom Shaw believe ex Rushden and Oconnor ex grays, WE have had Nelthorpe a winger from Doncaster and Adam Quinn ex Halifax defender on trial so hopefully we can sign them also.Think its going to take a few games for the team to settle.

The "10 coaches" comment came from one of the Mansfield officials who visited us for one of the friendlies. Latest estimate yesterday from Mansfield was between 600-800 are expected. I hope it isn't only 2 coaches, Eurostar/NCP will be disappointed frown

 

Segregation was requested by the police as Mansfield are an "unknown quantity" in our division. Too late for the Mansfield fans, but I am looking at ways we can quench visiting fans' thirst in the future and take some profits from the Plough!
