What does everyone think about changing from 4-4-2 to 3-5-2??

I think that it could solve a few problems as it seems that we are trying to fit players into positions that they are not totally comfortable with and so they are not performing!! How about this -

 

Beames or Jacko (GK)

Fenton, Harper and Pierson (CB's

Roberts (Right Wing Back)

Gray (Left Wing Back)

Brown (Holding Midfield)

Pritchard and Dickens (CM)

Platt and Jordan (CFWD)

 

This would cover for the lack of pace at the back

The 2 wing backs are very fit and could get up and down all day and have both played regularly in these positions for other clubs.

Brown would hold while Dickens and Pritchard could get forward and create. Dickens would be much more comfortable in this position as he was at Marlow. This also doesn't take anything away from Pritchards role for the team.

 

I think this would suit the players we have at the club more than 4-4-2 would. It seems that we are trying to play players in positions they are not comfortable in. I think that you should choose the formation based on the squad of players that we have.

I think you're right about 3-5-2

it's a thought but i favour a 3-4-3 as i think it promotes more attacking playand can give the opposistion more problems trying to defend against three strikers but either formation will not work unless we perform as a team and everybody in the team pulls their weight .

I agree, I like 3-4-3 but do you think we have the players to play that formation? Do you think we have 3 strikers that would be happy playing that??

 

Th biggest thing in this league I think, is workrate and fitness. The teams that do well are not always the teams with the best players but the teams that work hard and are organised!

precisely my point, you can have some of the most mediocre players but well organised and playing as a team you can beat anyone, yes i believe we have the players to play up front not so sure with the mid field too many seem to go wandering at critical times perhaps a little more concentration or discipline is needed still the godalming game will be the best indication of where we are at our level.
