Player of PRE-Season

If there was a player of PRE-season competition (maybe we should have one)with the last game on sunday,who would your player of PRE-season be.

 

To qualify-player must have played at least 45 minutes !!

Does not matter if signed or not

 

One friendly game to go; but from the two games i have seen it would be between stubbs and wilson-although as Young according to reports played particularly well on saturday-maybe he would push them.

Equally-has Gregory been most consistent ?

Young and Smith for me - which should be good news for our defence!

Thats assuming that Young is signed of course !!

Guy has done well to get fit from a pretty nasty injury

 

Having said that, signs are that this will be our central defensive pair-and we could do alot worse.

 

Having said that, is it just me,who has noticed that the defence looks ok when smith partners someone else; and similarly when young partners someone else, but smith and young never look great when playing together.

 

Admittedly-there have not been too many opportunities, but it sems to me that as a unit, they have not to date worked too well together.

 

Assuming that is the pairing (and one still hopes for a couple of alternatives) hopefully BA can organise them to work well together as a proper defensive unit this season.

 

Similarly, is it my eyes deceiving me-but has Smith lost weight over the summer-looks like he needs to bulk up a bit to me if he is to withstand the rigours of the ryman premiership

Very positive post there MM-you'll soon be hoping for some attacking football and not the defensive don't concede the nil type that you like the rate you're going. Give me 8-0 or 5-4 any day.
