.......and most abject apologies for not being able to get any form of match report from anyone for last nights friendly at Meadowbank.

 

I did get a telephone call from RC this afternoon and he told me that after the first half TW tried 9 players out with differing success !

I honestly don't know !

 

All I know is that TW was using the second half as an experiment with trialists etc.

 

I honestly hate being out of touch and hope I can make it on Saturday !

You'd probably know me if you saw me, used to sometimes stand behind the Meadowbank dugouts with Chris D & family from Portland Rd when you were there. Don't think we've ever formally met though!

Not actually been in it since last season, but looking over the fence.....clubhouse got new windows, being done up i believe, some new signage gone up, pitch has been nurtured but looked a bit brown in patches last night not too bad though. Bit of paint splashed about too by the look of it (not over the pitch!).

Dunno, maybe there are now some state of the art dressing rooms in place - guess SL will be able to let us know after Saturday!

Rusty as the Guildford manager you seem preoccupied by whats going on at Dorking.
As I think that you live there why don't you go down and find out for yourself. And by the way What the f*** what Dorkiing spend there money on got to do with you?

johncrow, I believe you are aware of Rustys history at Dorking, so if you dont know why he is still interested in Dorking FC and its affairs then you dont understand football or people.

in fairness to the board, they have always said they wouldnt spend money on the club's infrascture until they had a lease sorted, and thats still ongoing business.

 

not many agreed with that view but it's their company, their money, their lease.

 

It's not their football club, though and thats where the passion, the frustrations and sometimes anger set in.

I'm sure anyone with a genuine interest will find out on Saturday when they play their first home game or on Tuesday when Bookham are at home. I'm sure that I will take in one of those games but I would be surprised if DFC had the cash for new dressing rooms withou grant aid. However Football Foundation grants require a 25 year lease I think as opposed to Stadia Improvement Fund which is 10 years unexpired.

I'm sure that the length and conditions of the lease will determine the scope of the renovations and ensure that DFC Ltd. get a return on any investment.

I wonder if Bookham want to see improvements at Meadowbank?

 

Are they happy with the current facilities and the "rent" they pay, or would they be willing to pay more to help renovate/upgrade the ground?

the answer is in the dorkingad this week, apparently bookham feel after the 3-3 draw with Leatherhead they can soon be bigger and better than them and are looking for a new ground.

hard to see from that picture but some junk has been cleared out of the clubhouse and glass is in the windows. (thats junk not drunk)

 

As tony says he can only name 16 and the others may leave, thats why I think Dorking need a reserve side.

 

If the club need Bookhams money, why cant the first teams share at Meadowbank and reserves at the rec Bookham?
