Here we go then, the 1st match of a season that promises much, the pre season friendlies have gone well, there's another Trophy in the cabinet (when we get One) and Liam has brought in some very promising players to improve the squad. So what are we expecting on Saturday? Mansfield will have their backs up after being relegated and like all the other clubs that come down, will want and expect to go straight back up, they will probably bring a large support as well, but I believe we have the quality to shock all the so called 'big clubs' and push for promotion, we need to go at Mansfield from the 1st whistle and give them a good old fashion welcome to non league football, the fans need to get behind the lads as well from the start, I reckon we will get the season off to a great start with a 2-1 win.

Not at all. I have it on good authority Daish has re-signed the aforementioned players and is going for a Stadhart-Budge attacking combo in the first-half, followed by Hastings-Julians in the second. He's realised that Gash and Akinde aren't up to the task of these Fleet giants.

I've been on the Mansfield Town site, and it looks like they've released a lot of last seasons squad. They now seem to be made up mainly of reserve/youth players, who have come through their youth system, some were getting the odd first team game last season, but only every once and awhile. Plus close season signings, mostly 'journeymen', like Jeannin, Stallard and Blackwood. Names we all know from numerous clubs from seasons gone by.
